Killing off Tails, that will certainly do the Sonic franchise a world of hurt. They are already shooting themselves in the foot with games that seem to be getting worse every year. If they want to commit franchise suicide, then they'll kill him off. To be honest though, I don't see it happeneing.

It's probably just that site stirring up rumors to try and get people more interested in the game. Either that or cause drama.

Well, reviewers do state that Miles is worthless... but Tails has been around fo 16 years, i don't think they will "Off" him. But now that I read it-- It is possible. Just look at Shadow, in the first game he "died", my be Tails will.

This is a preview of an upcoming game called Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, being mad by the company Bioware. There's a topic about it in the 'Sonic Video Games' forum if you want to know more about it and such.

I also doubt that they would kill Tails, at least for good. If he were to die, they would most likely bring him back somehow, they wouldn't kill him off for good. He's been there ever since the beginning and is an important character to Sonic.

Maybe they'll make Tails die as a "bad ending" like Starfox Command, it got a lot of "*insert main character* dies/disappears" ending, but the main one it’s the happy and "correct" one.

Bioware is known for making deep and dark storylines. The sudden death of one of the heroes of the story is quite a possibility within such storylines. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, etc. Not a single one of the Sonic charcters is safe from a true death at this point. As much as we may love the charcters, we must come to the realization that this is quite the possibility for ANY of them.

So yes, the death of Tails is a possibility. We just need to hope it ends up being false in the end.

I doubt he would die. I am sure he probaily gets threats or maybe gets injured but I seriously doubt that they would kill him, especially since he's more than likely one of the major characters in the story. However, knowing BioWare, it could be up in the air and it could be if you do something wrong and/or evil (as usually, that can be a result in most BioWare games).

Well, Shadow is one of them. He "died" in Sonic Adventure 2 and he was brought back in Sonic Heroes.

Also, two important characters "died" in Sonic Next Gen. I won't say who they are though, in case it'd be spoiling it.

Though even if Tails does die and doesn't come back to life in this game, that doesn't mean the death of Tails forever... Sega isn't making this game and can add Tails to a new game without any explanation on his return. ^^;

You have a point. Aeris was killed by Sephiroth in FF7, but she was in ALL the Kingdom Hearts games.

I don't only have a crush on him, he's been my FAVORITE Sonic character through YEARS of Sonic games. Before I crushed on him, I liked him because he was cute, in the face kinda way.
Anyways, I BET my college fund, Tails will NOT die and leave the Sonic games. If Tails left, who would then be Sonic's main side kick? Knuckles? Not a chance! I cannot picture someone older then Sonic as a side kick.
Besides, Tails was the (3rd, I think...wasn't Robotnik 2nd?) character in Sonic history. With Tails gone, the many Tails fans, TailsXCosmo clubs, and everyone in the Sonic games would turn out depressed.

Blaze did not die. She's been transported to another dimension. Sonic did die however, and was brought back 10 mins later.

i would say if Tails died there would be a TON of super pissed people, then there will be anti-Tails people gettin pumeled for laughing at him,i would be pissed,but if he was brought back by the character and get respect from him that would REALLY bring up the sales, i would think, so one way or another, if Tails dies and is not approved or EVEN approved by Sega, they could sue Bioware because Sega would REALLY have trouble with fans asking why the hell they let bioware kill off Tails, so if Tails dies, thee will be some MAJOR problems somewhere. :blink:

Actually, I don't really think Sega could sue Bioware for killing Tails. For Bioware to even be developing this game, wouldn't Sega have to give their consent to use their characters? If they do that, can't Bioware pretty much do whatever they want with them? o.o;;

Yeah I don't think Sega can sue Bioware since they gave them their consent to use Sonic and the gang, the problems that fans cause upon themselves isn't Sega's problem anyway, they're still getting money. =P

It doesn't exactly work like that. Sega will have some terms and conditions to go with it. Such as character useage, language, attitude etc

This is one of the things Sega does although during the game Sonic would of course find some crazy plothole filled way to bring him back.

The more pressing question is why anyone would have any serious emotional reactions to the death of a fictional character in a video game that isn't canon (in a series for which there really isn't anything which is 'canon'...)

Erm guys, Tails death hasn't been confirmed. It was probably just a guess/joke at the the plot twist bioware said they would have (I mean they did say it would relate to past agmes,how does Tails death relate to past games?).

Tails isn't going to die. Even SEGA isn't stupid enough to kill off Sonic's sidekicks. SEGA/Sonic Team only kill off one-shot characters. Not characters that have been in it for almost the entire length of the series.

Then again, I could be wrong. They might kill off Tails, but I doubt it.

I bet he dies and comes back way more powerful than before. They did say there would be twists.

Of course, they could just go the Voyager/Mother 3 route. Kill him off, then at the end, time and space are returned to normal through Einsteinistic reasons about multiple dimensions and the speed of light, thus making it as if they never left their own world, but keeping the changes they made over there intact.
