I know that Tails appeared in Sonic 2 the game but what was his first appearance in a movie? I want to know his history. :lol:

Does anyone know or can give me a link to a you tube movie or something? I think its Satam but you guys know more than i do so any info would be much apreciated. Thankyou all.

There was no Satam movie. There was only one Sonic movie, and it was This one. I actually remember renting this one when I was young... Check the wiki page if you wanna know more about it

No no i dont mean just a movie, i mean anything like on television. Do we ever get to see him for the first time he meets sonic or when he was born?

Tails I beleve first appeared on TV in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, for that was the first cartoon. Of course, I'm not sure if that came before or after the Sonic Anime in Japan, so it was either Adventures or the Sonic Anime...one of the two. Lets just say in America it was Adventures. (and yeah, adventures came before Sat-AM, if you didn't know.)

The first appearance was just Sonic and Tails allready together, and they actualy got caught by the SSSSS (Lol, I don't remember how many S's) squad. Then they went into a flashback in the whole episode on the history of Sonic and the squad, then at the end, Sonic and Tails just excaped so...yeah, it had nothing to do with how they met. xD I don't beleve they've ever started anything with how Sonic an Tails met, they always do that in the middle of the series as a special or somthing...even then it's usualy vauge. Sonic X was the fist one I saw that actualy went a little deeper into how they met.

I can think of a good fanfic for this!

Lol yes, AoStH was the first TV show Tails was in... actually, it was the first Sonic show ever, and it rocks. =P

Tails's first cartoon appearance was in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog like the others have said. I believe the first episode was called Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad, so technically that would be his true first appearance in the cartoons.

So the SSSSS Squad? Yes! I got the right amount of S's! xD

First Appearances
Tails was first seen on Sonic 2 for the Master System, where he was kidnapped by Robotnik for ransom. He was first made playable in the Genesis version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, where he played the part of Sonic's sidekick and also as a playable character from the second controller, or could be chosen as player one. Sonic Chaos (1993), on the Game Gear/Master System was the second game where the player could control Tails.

Then, in Sonic 3 (1993) Tails made his third major appearance, this time able to pick up Sonic when possible. This was a big step forward for Tails; he became much better known and respected at this point for his usefulness.

His question wasn't about Tails' appearance in video games, he just wanted to know when he first appeared in the cartoons.

first cartoon was Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Or are you talking about how Sonic met Tails?

In Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic was running by and Tails was in a tree, thinking he was a bird. he later told Sonic "i thought i was a bird." and Sonic told him he was a fox, and then Tails became Sonic's non-related brother.

In Sonic X, Tails was being bullied, walking upset when Sonic ran by, then he repaired Sonic's plan telling Sonic "I couldn't help myself."
and asked Sonic if he needed a mechanic, Sonic liked the work on the plane and told him "I could use a mechanic, and a friend."

in satam, I think it was meant to be half continued on Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, or at least I thought.
I don't think they mentioned how they met on that series.

And on Sonic the movie they were already buds.

Tails's first real time being shown was on Sonic 2 for genesis. ^^

I beleve in Sat-AM Sonic and Tails were together from birth, so they grew up together....they never actualy "met."

But long story short, his first appearance ever was Sonic 2 for the master system or game gear, both versions are the same
