Title: Salamence in Photoshop

Jirachi - May 30, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
Umm... well, today I was reading Quetzal's lineart tutorial on teh main page (Pokeplushies), and I decided to try scanning something yet again in Photoshop and touching it up.

So, yeah, just don't go too hard or anything. Actually, C+C for this is pretty much discouraged.
I don't do much art in Photoshop... this is only my 3rd or 4th scanned graphic piece or so.

I started the coloring a lil' while back ago, so stay tuned for any updates for that. After I update this with the colored version, I'm gonna work on shading it.

Nice!! I love that comic-ish look! xD

Btw: what tool do you used? Brush?

Jirachi - May 30, 2008 09:55 PM (GMT)
I made a rough sketch, then a final sketch, scanned the final one onto the comp, resized it on Paint to about 233 x 253, then traced teh "exterior" outlines with a 2-pixel brush, traced the "interior" outlines with a 1-pixel brush, colored it, then FINALLY shaded it.

And speaking of shading and coloring, it's finally finished:

Oh, and I totally forgot to mention that it's chibi. XD

Thanks, also. ^^

...and the colored one is even better! (Well duh? lol)

Great work with the cell shading, they look so... real. Every time I wanna shade something in Photoshop its end up looking all unreal, guess I’m just not familiar with it...

Yes! Chibi! I was looking for that word! xD

Thanks! X3

I'm planning on chibifying a Jirachi next. Jirachi is just so flippin' adorable~ :3

edit: Jirachi lineart is done. Wow, this whole things will probably be finished before long... not much to color/ outline & all.

I personally don't think this outline is as great as the Salamence's, but hopefully this'll look better by the time it's complete. :]

This one is great (as always lol)… I think the eyes are a little too big though… but, it’s just me, I think xD *waits for the finished one*

Jirachi - May 31, 2008 07:05 PM (GMT)
It's chibi, so teh eyes are supposed to be bigger than normal. Also, it's kinda at an odd angle, which probably makes them seem to be larger than the size they should be at. XD;

Thanks!

The finished version is coming soon. After this, I think I'm gonna try Weavile.

Awsome pixel art Jirachi!! Cant wait to see the finished ones! ^^

Jirachi - June 1, 2008 01:24 AM (GMT)
They're not pixel art... it's digital art. XP Pixel art is pixel by pixel.

But, it's okay. Thanks! ^_^

Oh, and it's finished! ^^;

I personally don't like how the eyes turned out, but I guess I'm pretty happy with the results. ^^
