CreamCrazy - August 7, 2008 02:25 AM (GMT)
If you can count the voice as an instrument then I'd say yes. If not then no
S.M.A.S.H. Prower - August 7, 2008 03:05 AM (GMT)
I have a recorder, bongos, an electric guitar, and a ukulele. I don't play them much, but music runs in my family.

I play the trumpet. 'nuff said. I want to learn alto saxaphone, though.

I played trumpet in the 5th grade. It was...different. I really want to play guitar though ^-^, the kids will swoon  . But yeah, I also consider myself a vocalist, though I guess I'm sounding a bit cocky now ^-^;;.

Hmm, I used to be interested in playing guitar. But it felt too hard so I stopped it. At school most people are taught how to play recorder. It was quite boring...
Nowadays, I can play a little with keyboards, though. A bit of familiar melodies, but not as well as I wanted to.
sonic32 - August 7, 2008 08:57 AM (GMT)

I was obliged to play the crappy recorder when I was about 10 in school. I wanted to start playing drums when I was about 7 becuase I thought they were awesome =P my mom never wanted to pay for the lessons though. When I was in highschool I wanted to play guitar, but never asked for lessons 'cause I knew what the answer would be. When I left highschool, my mom was paying for guitar lessons for my little brother in school, but he wasn't enjoying it. After about a year he sold his guitar to me, which I taught myself how to play using books and the internet. I can play a few songs. I really want an electric guitar now.
I like playing, but the only guitar I have (some big blue bulky acoustic thing) is kinda cheap. The notes don't sound as good compared to when I use my brothers electric.

My first instrument was the trumpet. I picked it up 8 years ago when I was 10. At one point in time, I was good enough to be in the All-State New York band, but I lost interest in the trumpet big-time, causing me to stop practicing it completely. (I had a very rough private teacher. During the summer I played the trumpet 8-9 hours a day, 5 days a week. Needless to say, that burned me out.) I have a Bach Stradivarius trumpet and a Bach Stradivarius flugelhorn.
My next instrument was piano. I picked up on that around 5 years ago. It's a lot of fun, and I still practice to this day. I write a lot of my own music for it, which is even more fun. I have a keyboard with 4-5 octaves. Can't remember the full number.
I picked up guitar a little over 2 years ago. You can check out my guitar thread in the Other Fan Creations forum. This is my favorite thing to do. I play guitar 4-5 hours a day, just in sheer fun. Writing and playing never gets old for me. The day I stop playing guitar is the day my fingers stop working. :D I have an Ibanez RGR321EX. My amp is a 140 Watt Line 6 Spider II.
I also sing, which could be considered an instrument I hope. :P I'm a tenor, but I can sing as low as the bass range, and as high as the soprano range if I wanted. xD I've taken singing lessons for around 3 years now, and it has greatly improved my vocals. I had no idea the amount of things that are done in singing. You're whole body is basically put into use to sing correctly.
I think that's it. :TailsHappy: Oh, I'll throw in that I have perfect pitch. (I can tell you the note of anything. My school bell is a concert B.)

When I was 7, I had guitar lessons, but it seemed to hard for me so I stopped after a year or so.
Then, I learned playing piano, and I enjoyed it very much.
At the christmas celebration of my high school, I even played in front of about 200 pupils!
Today, I only practise piano now and then, but it's good for relaxing. ^^

Wow I feel outcast =/. I used to play the trumpet in about 5th grade myself, but I got bored with that and now I play bass guitar. I really enjoy it a lot and it's a lot of fun to play. Currently I own 3 basses: a Saga PB 100 P-bass I built, a Fender Geddy Lee Signature Jazz Bass (VERY NICE) and a fretless Fender Squier Jazz Bass. I have 2 amps, a Silvertone BA Xs practice amp (20W), an Acoustic B20 (20W) and I have a Digitech BP 200 distortion pedal. I also use a Monster Cable designed specifically for bass.
My main instrument though is the Geddy Lee. I really love that bass a lot. It has a thin neck, it's light weight, and the the whole thing is finished, even the neck. It has a black body with rectangular black inlays. It features 2 single coil Jazz Bass pickups, individual pickup volume control, and a BadAss Bass II bridge. Currently it has Rotosound Swing Bass 66 strings which are roundwound, have a really bright and punchy timbre, and they are the same strings Geddy Lee uses.
My PB 100 is a standard P bass which I custom built. It has a blade shaped headstock that i designed and cut, and it has a red, flat wood paint finish. It has 2 standard P- bass pickups with knurled volume and tone controls. It has no special features, but it's nice to practice with, and it has basic dot inlay markings. It has factory roundwound strings that have a sort of 'metallic' sound to them.
Last but not least, my fretless bass. This bass is also a Jazz Bass. It has 2 Duncan Designed single coil Jazz Bass pickups. It is sunburst in color, the neck isn't finished, but it has a solid black finger board with white position markers in place of the frets. Like the Geddy Lee, it features individual pickup volume control, and it sounds great. It also is very light weight. It has D' Addario Chrome flatwound strings, for a soft, warm, jazzy sound.
My favorite bass is definitely the Geddy Lee with my fretless Squier bass at a close second.

I don't play in instrument right now. But I use to play the piano. I don't really remember why I quit but I think my teacher was pretty mean.
