Has anyone heard of Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child?
Or, for that matter, has anyone heard of Relic? They made a movie out of it in 1997 (although it was quite possibly the worst book-based movie I've ever seen in my life).
Anyway, it's a great read. Rather gory at times, but it
is a mystery, so that's to be expected. Basically, a museum beast terrorizes people in the Museum of Natural History in NYC. An FBI agent who goes by the name of Pendergast takes a personal interest in the case and, with the help of Lieutenant Vincent D'Agosta, Margo Green and Bill Smithback, manages to solve it and save the museum (sorta).
There's also a few follow-up books featuring Pendergast: Reliquary, Cabinet of Curiosities (my personal favorite to the series), Still Life with the Crows, Brimstone, Dance of Death, Book of the Dead and Wheel of Darkness.
So yeah. Anyone? :B;
