Title: New Led Zeppelin Singer Discussion Topic

This topic is where we can all ramble about the current goings on with the Led Zeppelin singer rumours & stuff.

As we all know, Robert Plant has said he will not be touring or recording with Led Zeppelin anytime in the future... however, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones & Jason Bonham (son of late Zep Drummer John Bonham) said that they will go ahead with a tour. Many singers have been rumored to take Plants place, including Chris Cornell (Soundgarden & Ausioslave), Sammy Hagar (Van Halen) & Scott Stapp (Creed). However the name that has been mentioned most & for many is the most likely to succeed Plant is the Alter Bridge vocalist Myles Kennedy. Jimmy Page said that they didn't want a Robert Plant soundalike, which has quashed any chance of a Led Zeppelin tribute band singer getting the job.

I feel that Myles deserves to replace Plant because unlike Plant he can hit those very high notes & he can also sing Zep songs very well. Practically anyone else who tries to can't do it. Also this vid from Alter Bridge's cover of Kashmir convinces me that Myles IS gonna be the voice of Zeppelin.

What are your views? Should Led Zep continue without Plant? Should Plant reconsider? Who would you pick as singer?

You know yesterday this was the "Carpool Wednesday" question on a radio station I listen to. Everyone was ticked about the whole issue and no one around here wants to see anyone but Robert Plant sing with LZ.

I share the same opinion. It's not Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant. I don't think there is a reasonable replacement.

Some considerations of others for replacement:
Alter Bridge's singer
White Snake's singer
Black Crows' singer
