Title: Music news

Mazcaeks™ - December 12, 2008 12:51 AM (GMT)
Similar to the Current Events thread in General Discussion, you can post music news and updates in this thread. That doesn't mean go to a music news site and copy pasta. Maybe give an opinion on what you have posted. Also, if possible, state your sources. At least try and make the news interesting and not go on about how your crappy underground bands that no one has ever heard of signing a new guitarist who they picked off the street.

Soooo.... I was listening to the radio last night, as I do every night when they were discussing music (which is unusual for the radio station I listen to) and a hot topic was the fact that Robbie Williams might rejoin Take That. I'm not a fan of either, especially Robbie, due to a rivalry with my favourite musician Noel Gallagher.

Robbie was part of Take That during the 90's (departed in '95. The rest of the band splitt in '96). Though in 2006, Take That got back together and released a new album without Robbie. According to what I heard on the radio yesterday, Robbie and the rest of Take That have put their differences behind them. Robbie said he'd like to rejoin. Probably becuase they are now bigger than him (lulz).

I've also heard The Smiths might be reforming. I've recently become interested in this band. Bear in mind, this was just a radio rumor, but it interests me a lot and they were semi popular over here amongst Alternative and British rock fans. Their latest release was way back in '87, so this would be quite a comeback if they were to reform.

Speaking of reunions, a few have popped up recently that have taken my interest:

Blink 182: The worlds favourite Pop Punk band reforming? Yes... it's been rumored, however I don't think it'll happen due to the the fact that Tom DeLonge & Mark Hoppus still don't want to work together as far as things go, & after Travis Barker was involved in a plane crash that has kept him from playing for up to a year... it won't happen anytime soon

Faith No More: This band are one that many would like to see reform, I for one are not a big fan of them... however due to the legacy they have built up in Alternative & Rock music circuits, them reforming will be a dream for many... although... lets just see if Mike Patton can stop with his "million" side projects & actually get it done

Creed: Although I love Creed, I loved Creed splitting because Alter Bridge formed out of that. What has made this pop up you're probably asking yourself? Myles Kennedy (vocalist of Alter Bridge) becoming Led Zeppelin singer is what has caused it. He will be touring with them for awhile & Wind-Up Records (Creed's former record label) want a reunion tour to happen whilst Kennedy is with Led Zep. However... in my eyes, this happening is wrong... maybe in 10, 15 maybe 20 years after Creed was done for... not 5... that's too short... & Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall & Scott Phillips have done so much with Alter Bridge... I don't want them to throw it away for a Creed reunion in which Wind-Up Records will pressure them to keep it going & abandon Myles Kennedy

& That's my 2 Cents :T0:

Well that's ghey, what am I meant to talk about? D:< Kayyy :D

Well Sky Eats Airplane have made a new album but now that it's with an actual recording thingeh, doesn't sound like their old stuff and has lost the nintendo-core sound they had. D: *slap'd*

Uhm...Tom Gabel from Against Me! has released an EP =D but that was end of October. D:<

Ooh. Slash from Velvet Revolver is releasing a solo album some time next year ^__^

And I got all this info from a bunch of my friends magazines. *nods*

Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy recently revealed in an interview with fansite Myles-Kennedy.com that he is working on releasing a solo album.

When asked what was next for him after the conclusion of the bands Blackbird Tour in December, he responded: "Well, I guess at this point we get ready to do another Alter Bridge record which both Mark and I have been working on. I am also doing a side thing where it's basically songs I have had set aside over the years that would not find a home in Alter Bridge. So, I am trying to complete that as well, and so far it's been a lot of work."

He went on to describe that the material for the project thus far is "dreamy" "I am intentionally trying to make a record that isn't aggressive (saving that stuff for Alter Bridge). It's more singer/songwriter based. I will say it's going to be interesting. I hope people don't think I have lost my mind"
