Hawkfrost - December 14, 2008 06:29 AM (GMT)
Does anyone here read the Warrior Cats books at all? I'm currently awaiting Long Shadows, The 5th book in the 3rd series. What book are you reading from the series? What are your favourite characters from the books? Who are your least favourite? My favourites are Graystripe, Jaypaw and Millie and Hawkfrost. My least favourite are Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight. I also love Flamepaw! He's adorable!

I read the 'New Prophecy' series, it was pretty awesome. c:
My favorite characters are Hawkfrost, Feathertail, Crowfeather, and Leafpool. I really hate Brook, Squirrelflight, and Brambleclaw...

Hmm tell me who is the author of these books? I might go look for some at my library.

Hawkfrost - December 16, 2008 11:47 AM (GMT)
The author is actually 4 people under one name. They go by Erin Hunter. Though for first timers, You should read Into the Wild first. For the manga, he Rise of Scourge is the highlight of the series, As it has just as much violence as the novels do, But with more deaths.

Is it similar to Redwall in a way? I love Redwall so I might like this aswell.

Hawkfrost - December 16, 2008 02:05 PM (GMT)
I've never read the Redwall series, But many reviewers have said that if you like Redwall, You'll like Warriors.

Some of my friends at school reads those books. They seem pretty popular. not like Twilight though.

Hawkfrost - December 16, 2008 08:51 PM (GMT)
The author of the Twilight series is actually stealing names off the Warriors books and using them for her books. Twilight and Eclipse are both book names for the Warriors series.

Really? I never knew that. Considering I havnt read Twilight and I dont want to. But I'll check these Warrior Cats books out.

Well I finally got Long Shadows about 2 weeks back...I've just started reading it though I haven't finished it yet. I do know that if anyone has read Sunset, They would be dying to know who the Thunderclan traitor who helped Hawkfrost is. So I'm gonna reveal a spoiler:

CODE
Ashfur is the Thunderclan traitor. He helped Hawkfrost try to kill Firestar and blame it on Brambleclaw so he could win Squirrelflight's attention. He was so distraught that Squirrelflight chose Brambleclaw over him, He tried to kill her kits, Lionblaze, Hollyleaf, And Jayfeather. He tried to make Squirrelflight feel the same pain he did when he lost her to Brambleclaw. She then tells him that Lion, Holly and Jay aren't her kits. It was never revealed who the three's real parents are, But my guess is that we'll find out in Sunrise. A while after all this happened, Firestar is looking for Squirrelflight and Ashfur who were supposed to go to the Gathering. Squirrelflight comes back all muddy and says she was looking for herbs for Leafpool around the Shadowclan border. They leave without Ashfur, But once they get to the river near Windclan's territory, They find Ashfur dead. A Thunderclan cat killed him, He didn't drown, His throat was cut open.

It never seemed like something that I could fall in love with. So I never even tried to read the series at all. Something about cats just isn't interesting to me.

Meh, I picked it up a few times, read the first book altogether actually, but it just never gripped me or anything. I found that odd, since Redwall is my favorite series, but ya know, I guess some books don't click for everyone.

Oh, and about the author of Twilight stealing names and whatnot, I'm pretty sure that wasn't much more than a coincidence. When somebody's a good writer, it's not hard to make up a good title. Though I've never read Twilight or any of the series, I've heard it's pretty good, so I'm thinking it's a coincedence.

Kitsune_Otaku - January 9, 2009 01:17 AM (GMT)
I like this series, but I'm way behind...I've only read through the five books of the first series, and I've only read the first book of the New Prophecy series!
