Has anyone read his poems or stories? They are very good. I have two favorites,
The Raven and
The Tell-Tale Heart. Then there is
The Cast of Amontillado, a short story.
The Raven is a poem about a man who is locked in his room for years. He hears this rapping on his door and lets a black raven in. "Nevermore," is the most common quote from this poem, as the raven says this repeatedly.
The Tell-Tale Heart is about this man and his wicked father or very old friend or something...Well they live together and the old man dirves the other man crazy. He keeps going to the old man's room at midnight with a knife (I think) and is always very close to being cuaght. Well..one night...The man goes into this guy's room and slowly opens the door, the old man jolts awake, and stares at the ajar door.He stares at it for hours, as this man is staing there, very still, watching the old man. The old man finally falls asleep after HOURS. The man kills the old one and hides his heart. The nightbor's hear the screaming and the police come to investigate. The man tells them he knows of no dead man and let's them investigate. He let's them have some tea and had sat on a chair ontop of a loose floorboard where he had hidden the old amn's heart. The police look around and find nothing. A oud thumping can be heard by the man and he's being carful not to say anything. But it gets to loud for him and he said,"Can you hear that?" and they reply with a no."I hear..thumping.." and it get's so loud he confesses to murder of the old man.
The Cask of Amontillado is a short story about two friends at a party I think it was...Well..one guy leads his drunk friend into a cellar and takes him down many flights of stairs till a gap in the wall.He had a bunch of bricks with him and started to brick his friend into the cask and I think that's it. DX I'm not sure if I just told it right or not.
And there are many more
stories and
poetry of Poe's that I think you would enjoy. ^^

I'm a fan of "The Fall of the House of Usher" and especially "Ligeia". That last one leaves so much to the imagination it's frightening. The protagonist essentially is Poe, although that can be said for many of his works.

I've read the Tale Tale Heart, The Cask Of Amantillado, and Annabelle Lee.
Did you guys know that Annabelle Lee was Poe's cousin? Back in those times marraige like that was acceptable. What started as love, turned into an obsession, what a shame.

erm...well I saw the movie "The Raven," but I'm sure it's not the same as the poem...so I can't really say I'm familier with his work, unfortionately. I'm not a big book reader, and I have my reasons for that. >_> <_< *sits down ackwardly*

Hmm, tough one. Some of his poems I enjoy are A Dream, Eldorado, The Raven, The Bells, and The City in the Sea.
Regarding his stories, The Pit and the Pendulum, Hop-Frog, The Black Cat, and The Fall of the House of Usher are pretty nice. Special mention go to The Cask of Amontillado and The Tell-Tale Heart. =)

One of my fan characters, Rhetoric the Raven, is based on Edgar Allan Poe's poem The Raven. Rhetoric is a combination of Edgar Allan Poe's poems, The Phantom of The Opera, and Batman.
I love poems, and Edgar's are no exception.

Actually, that was Annabel Lee, but yeah.
I'd have to say that was my favorite.
