Title: Sonic Unleashed Sales Update
AugieD - December 28, 2008 03:04 AM (GMT)
Well, despite the split in the fan base on the game, the current economic problems, the delays in the next gen versions and a disappointing first week in sales of the Wii version in Japan (5,800 copies sold), TSSZ news is reporting that worldwide sales figures for Sonic Unleashed on all platforms show that 1.20 million copies have been sold since launch!
The best selling version is the Wii version coming in at over 500,000 copies, The Xbox 360 had over 250,000 copies sold.

SERIOUSLY O_O
I thought many Sonic fans would hate on it (like the games that came AFTER & including Sonic Heroes), but maybe I was wrong. Although, maybe the sales could be due to newer fans... I dunno, that might be it

Are you kidding? I played the game and Completed it in a matter of 5 days straight on playing. Never had so much fun with a sonic game until now, well... Sonic Heroes was a nice one though they could have done a little more about the bosses.
I think the high sales on the Wii is due to it's revolutionary controls. The game may be completely different and some maps aren't included in the Wii version which the Xbox 360 have, but it's still better at some point's.
I seen movies about the final fight between *may be a spoiler so be warned* light gaia and Perfect DARK gaia* on the Xbox 360. It's way different from the Wii version but I'd prefer the Wii over the Xbox at that point ANY TIME. Controls are more slick, you got to do more which is also incredibly fun.

WHAT THE HEAPS
1.20 million copies?!
TAKE THAT, SONIC HATERS! >D

I beat the Wii version the day I bought it. I'm trading in for Xbox version.

This just proves good games can't be held back from biased reviews. Very nice find AugieD. :T0:

I regret wasting my money getting the game. :/

I loved it ^^ It was well worth the money! Although I have heard that on the Xbox 360 version *SPOILERS AHEAD* That when you fight Dark Gaia, Gaia Coloses(?) is really slow, and on the Wii version its not as slow.

Which version did you get? The Wii version? WII? If you did, stop complaining, get a 360 or PS3 if you don't already, and get it for one of those.
Aurorae - January 3, 2009 07:56 PM (GMT)
I got the 360 version. It was terrible.
Trixie Prower - January 3, 2009 10:40 PM (GMT)
I loved the game, my third favorite sonic game of all time, I hadn't had so much fun, it was challenging and fun! ^^
Hawkfrost - January 3, 2009 10:47 PM (GMT)
I owned the PS2 version. It was alright but in my opinion it was boring and frustrating. I'd rather play Sonic 2006 or Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. I only brought it because I wanted the Werehog figure to add to my Sonic collection. =/
Red Fox - January 3, 2009 11:49 PM (GMT)
I can't say much about the game since every time I try to buy it here it's sold out. Gee goly a sonic series game actually being sold out! :P It's gotta be good if i'm running into this. This my second or is it third week of trying.
tails11 - January 4, 2009 02:16 AM (GMT)
LOL! ^^^ Good luck trying to get a copy. The battle against *spoilers* Dark Gaia is hard!

Depends which version you're talking about. I got an S, because my time was 6:35:35 (on the Wii/PS2). xD

I'm trying to get the 360 version.
Comrade WereSonic - January 4, 2009 06:51 PM (GMT)
Well, then don't listen to the IGN type people here. It's possibly THE best Sonic game so far.

Good luck on the final boss on the 360 version. I consider myself a great Sonic player, and I had to stock up on 20 lives to make sure I beat it. Afterward, I had 5 or 6 lives left. I've heard it was 10x easier on the PS2/Wii version though. :T5:
Knuckles83 - January 18, 2009 05:24 AM (GMT)
I'm quite suprised the 360 version sold that much, which got unfair scores (ala Gamespot 3.5 for instance).
I remember when Sonic Next Gen's first few weeks were a bomb, that it only sold 38,000 units the first two weeks. But then again, I think that sold pretty well too, correct me if I'm wrong.
I thought Sonic Unleashed is a pretty **** good game. I like both the Sonic and werehog levels, as they provide something different, even if it's slower.
I haven't got to Eggmanland yet, and I heard it got the most criticism from everyone who played the game. I'm even getting comments saying that it's one of the worst designed levels ever. Doesn't sound good.
TailsTheFoxPrower - January 18, 2009 06:45 AM (GMT)
I has the PS2 version of the game, and I absolutely love it!
The daytime levels are just a ton of fun to fly through. ^-^ I also appreciate the retro-like Eggman bosses.
