Title: Rap Music

So, what are your opinions on rap music and rappers? Normally I'd include mine in here, but I'm too lazy and bored to right now. There's a lot of controversy with the whole genre itself. Just thought it might make for an interesting topic.

I hate Rap music. A lot. I also hate Hip-Hop and R N B. These 3 music genres are big in Australia right now. So is Pop music too. It's gotten to the point where Newspaper reviewers shun other genres because there's no rap crap in it. My favourite Rock album got given 2 out of 5 stars! Yet a hip-hop and rap album got 5!

I personally can't stand rap, but if other people like it, ya know, whatever floats their boat. Different opinions make a rainbow. But just don't make me listen to it

Mainstream rap is annoying and very repetitive (and I'm not just saying this because I worship guitar-driven rock). It's hard to find variety at all. The fact it takes up 70% of the radio is what gets on my nerves most of all :/ It's made it unbearable. There are some groups that aren't so bad, like Run D.M.C and Insane Clown Posse. And personally I like nerdcore, which raps about silly things like computers, school, etc. Rap rock is good as well (Rage Against the Machine, Linkin Park, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc). I tend to stay away from most rap music

I agree with what Tails Fox said, seriously.

I´d just like to add that I also like Japanese rap as well, because they "sing" mostly about the positive things of life, rather than the negatives as in "western" rap.

I don't enjoy listening to it. Do I think it influences bad behaviour? Yes and no; some people are so retarded that they try and relate to the music becuase they have nothing much else in their lives. Wannabes. There are plenty of them in my town "OMG dawg I had to liek, be raised on da street, its tough for me yo" truth being, that they wouldn't last a second without their caring and supporting family. The point is, they look up to the people who make the rap music and idolise them, wishing they could be like them. Those with more than half a brain cell will not take it as seriously and just enjoy the music.

White people acting black is sooooo sad, we call them chavs here and they're the scum of the earth. GANGSTA 4 LYFE YO.

KAY I AM NO LONGER LAZY.

I don't enjoy listening to it. It's music all right, but I can't stand how most have no talent. Here, listen to me...

RORONAO BOY UP IN DAT OHHH

See? I can rap too! They just speak into a mic. I especially hate how overpaid they are. If you've ever seen 50 Cent's (one of the worst in all time, believe me) house, he is freakin' loaded just because he waves to his hoes and speaks into a mic about them. The most annoying thing is how EVERY FREAKIN' PERSON TRIES TO COPY THEM. Listen, rappers = not very good influence. Don't act like you were raised in the ghetto or whatever, don't act like you have so many girls under you, you DON'T. Sorry you've been influenced by that. Now get out of my sights before I truly go medieval on you.

I don't like it at ALL. Rock n Roll and Jazz actually started the whole music thing. It came in the 1950s. They deserve most of the credit, not rappers that say "oh i lived in the ghetto yo i survived gunshots dawg" Yeah... RIGHT. My grandma grew up in the ghetto, and she is not one to lie. They over use the wrong meaning of ghetto, and need to know the real meaning.

They are also bad influences as well. Sex, drugs, and whores... no. I'm not listening to that and neither are my kids(when I have some.) Pop and Hip Hop are not as bad, but I still don't like them

There is good rap. There is something good to be found in every form of music. What you see on TV and hear on the radio is unfortunately usually the lowest common denominator. That goes for most styles of music. There's some stuff out there that has legitimate lyrics that have a purpose, that scan, that flow well, set to a tight rhythm. The supply of this good stuff has gotten smaller and smaller over the years however, or maybe just less noticeable.

I like rap music. OLD SCHOOL RAP MUSIC. I mean people like Kid N Play, Kriss-Kross, Run DMC, Dougie Fresh, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince(Will Smith) along with others. Out of new age rappers, the only ones that actually haven't only sex in their songs has been Kanye West. As a matter of fact, the first song he made after being in his accident had nothing to do with anything negative. It was talking about his life, so it was like a mini-biography. But I digress... I'm a type of person that listens to preeety much every type of music I can find. I don't like all of what I hear, but I give it a chance.
