Title: Which do you like better?

Which do you like better?
I personally like Harry Potter, but have not read Twilight yet. But then, I will NEVER read Twilight. I may only be on the 6th book of Harry, but I still love it.
Twilight has gone enough through my head, it is just way to hyped! I can't stand hearing 'Oh Edward!' 'Twilight! OMG!' and 'OMG, Edward is soooo hot!' I just can't stand it. Too much talking about it..Besides, the books are years old, how the heck did it become popular after the4th one came out?
I can name both series in order from their first book to their last.
Harry Potter:
- Sorcerer's Stone (Philosopher's Stone)
- Chamber of Secrets
- Prisoner of Azkaban
- Goblet of Fire
- Order of the Phoenix
- Half-Blood Prince
- Deathly Hallows
Twilight:
- Twilight
- New Moon
- Eclipse
- Breaking Dawn
How sad is this? I find it very sad. Well, what are your opinions?
Hawkfrost - January 17, 2009 09:47 AM (GMT)
I can personally say I hate them both. I hate any book that's in competition with my precious Warriors books. Last year I started reading Snakehead, The 7th Alex Rider book. I even brought and read the new Graphic novel, Point Blanc. I found both of them very boring and stupid. It made me think "Why did I even buy these books? They're so boring and a big waste of money..I'd rather read Warriors!". I used to be a big Alex Rider fan too. So that's saying something. Both Harry Potter and Twilight aren't what they're cracked up to be. Harry Potter's aimed at kid's who are interested in magic and stuff. Twilight is without a doubt, Aimed at all those vampire obsessed goths.

I love the Harry Pottter series, not gonna lie! I can't stand Twilight, it is SO irritating...which is not to say that Harry Potter wasn't overhyped, but the books apparently aren't even that great to begin with...terribly written and whatnot.
Kitsune_Otaku - January 18, 2009 01:50 AM (GMT)
I've read all the Harry Potter books, but haven't read the Twilight books yet. And to tell the truth, I really think Twilight is overrated.
Gaara of the Funk - January 18, 2009 12:58 PM (GMT)
I've read all of the Harry Potter books and the first 2 Twilight books.
Honestly, I like Twilight better so far. .__.;;
I used to be OBSESSED with Harry Potter, but now...it's...okay, in my opinion. It's still a good series and all, but eh....
I find Twilight to be pretty awesome, but nothing to get so obsessed over...I don't find it THAT epic, but everyoe has their own opinion ;D
It's true that the "omg twilght omgomgomg edwrd culnz zomg!!11!" kinda people are annoying, but they're nowhere near as annoying as the "I haven't read it yet, but I never will because it's stupid/annoying/overrated/etc.." people =A=

You were quite right with the Harry Potter one, but a bit off track with Twilight. Twilight is aimed at young adults who love vampire X teenage girl love stories. Or just fantasy romance novels in general.

It's perfectly fine if you like Twilight, but I posted this topic becuase there are so many people who loved Harry before Twilight became popular and was sucked away.. I'm currently reading Harry, and haven't read Twilight yet. And for your last bit, I'm sad to say, I might never read Twilight because it is too over hyped currently and all my friends are talking about it way too much for me to handle. I'm reminded very much of when High School Musical came out, one of my friend wouldn't stop talking about it causing me to never want to see it. But then I found my parents watching it, I was sucked into it.
but then, I might read Twilight, as one of my friends is going to force me into it, right after I read the 7th book of Harry Potter. I'm sure of it.

My boyfriends obsessed with Twilight. Isn't that sad?
I liked the Harry Potter series. I mean I didn't liked how a lot of people died in the seventh book....including some of my favorites *sniff*
Twilight is okay. I enjoyed reading the series. I'm almost done with the fourth book. I don't obsess over it unlike most girls at my school. Some people are usually close-minded who don't like the series. I had a friend who hated Twilight. She read the books, and then she changed her mind.

My boyfriends obsessed with Twilight. Isn't that sad? No, due to knowing a few boys who read it and liked it.
I liked the Harry Potter series. I mean I didn't liked how a lot of people died in the seventh book....including some of my favorites *sniff* Like Fred, Tonks, Lupin, Moody? Must I go on? *hugs Morgan and cries* I couldn't bear it when I found out Lupin and Tonks died.. ._. *sniff* And Moody...

My mom bought the first book and read it, cuase some friends of her liked it and she calimed she couldn't put it down. She only read that first book... And I will never read it until maybe finishing the 7th book of Harry, and then maybe Brisinger. xD |
Bold parts in the quote are mine. =P

never red twilight but i like harry potter
Chrona - January 22, 2009 11:10 PM (GMT)
I used to be obsessed with Harry Potter [[I read the first six, not gonna read the seventh one because 1. read part of the epilouge, it sucked; 2. Sis read it and told me about it, said it sucked. c:]], but now... I don't like it, really. It's okay, I guess, but it's kinda boring. The only characters I ever liked were Luna Lovegood and Draco Malfoy...
On the other hand, Twilight... Oh Kami-sama, don't get me started on that series. I've never read it, but I don't plan on doing so. Everyone's so ******* obsessed with that goddamn series, and the fact that most of my friends at school and my sister are such huge fans makes it even worse. =A= There's some chick that sits next to me in Science class who's one of those "OMG EDWARD CULLENS IS MY BF LOL!!!111 HE'S CHEATING ON BELLA FOR ME CUZ HE LUVZ ME NAWT HER LOLOLOL!!! TWILIGHT IZ DA BEST SEREEZ EVR" kind of people. ANNOYING! >A>
Also... those vampires in Twilight aren't even REAL vampires. Vampires don't sparkle. .___. Seriously, where the **** did that come from? Sparkling? Vampires don't SPARKLE in the light, they BURN.
...Please don't tell me I'm the only one who wants to write "Stephanie Meyer" in a Death Note...
Missy - January 23, 2009 12:13 AM (GMT)
LOL, you're not the only one Chrona. One of my friends is like an obsessed vampire fanboy. He keeps complaining and ranting that they're not real vampires. Which is true, they burn in the light. Not freaking sparkle. Gawd. I think it's way too overrated by now, I believe it was mostly aimed at those 12 year old wannabe 16 year old girls.
Anyway, I don't like either series. I watched the first Harry Potter movie with my sister and her dad and I was scared to death. Omg, I wanted to get out of there. It never really interested me.. xD
Morgan the Hedgehog - January 24, 2009 02:55 AM (GMT)
I really don't like how they decided that vampires have to sparkle.....O.o um....Okay so they can never go into sunlight because of that? I mean who would know about it in the book series
vamp: *goes into sunlight*
random human: OMG HE'S LIAK A VAMPIRE!!!
Epic P. - January 24, 2009 06:57 AM (GMT)
I have read all of both series' books, and I personally can't decide.
I LOVED the H.P. books with all my heart 'til Twilight came along. I was one of the first people at my school to read it. And I recommended it to my English teacher and friends aand stuff.
So now my heart is split.
Oh, and Morgan. I completely agree.
EDIT: Oh, and I haven't seen the movie yet. Because I knew that they would probably completely trash it, like almost every other book-based movie. :/
I've heard mixed reviews. Some friends say they saw it 3 times, others say it sucked. *shrug*
The Bakin' Muffins - January 24, 2009 07:13 PM (GMT)
TWILIGHT! I is the twilight fanatic that nobody understands why I love the Twilight series^^
Blood & Fire - January 25, 2009 06:06 PM (GMT)
Ok, so I kinda have a completly new opinion on Twilight. I ended up reading it becuase of
my own chioce of death to read at least the first chapter of it. I've only read 7 pages, and I guess I'm taking it to school tomorrow to read it with my Twilight obsessed friends and they can all fangirl over me reading it and be ,"OMG, have you met Edward yet? 8D?" I am allowing them to do that, yes.. ._.
But then, I never did want to read it. It's very boring for me in the first 7 pages. I got easily disracted. XD Plus it might have been the fact I was RPGing at the same time. XDD So yeah...
