Title: Fan Fiction Discussion

Discuss what fan fictions you might have read, or what you generally enjoy in a story and what you don't. :)

Hmm...if I'm going to be honest, I've never liked fan fics that much. I find that many people manipulate it so that you don't have to describe the scenery nor go through the difficulty of actually making characters and their personality. Of course, if it's a good read or it's on something I really like, I'll usually read it regardless, but hey. I've just never liked them a whole lot.

Writing a fanfic has always been a fun challenge for me. If you want to get readers drawn in and enjoy your stories, you have to be pretty creative in what you do. I always enjoy plot twists. I enjoy those shocking moments where you never see it coming. I like it when characters get involved in a mystery and they have to figure out "Who done it?"
Usually, I just write down my ideas on notebook paper, and I pile them all together to see what I can come up with those characters and those places. Fanfics just need to be entertaining. They can have alittle bit of everything like comedy, drama, sad scenes, and yes, fight scenes. I like to stay with a story and go as far as I can go with it instead of making short stories, but that's just me. :T0:

Seconded.
Though I have read some (and I mean SOME) fanfics that were written very well, and the story is actually good, too. And I hate fanfics written in script style.

This may be a good place for someone to specifically explain to me what is a fan-fic. I mean, I think I have the basic idea: you take a work of fiction that you like and make your own story out of it. Anything important to note that I haven't already? :)

Yeah, that's basically it. A fanfic is an all out story. A roleplay is alittle different than a fanfic. A fanfic is a fictional story made by the fan! :T0:

I think you'de really like my Save Me story. XD *shot*
I've always found Fan Fics really interesting. It inspires me when I see other people's visions of the Sonic world, and it REALLY suprises me everytime I see a story that has elements I had in a few story's of my own. XP I think it's all in good fun, and some really really neat stories come out of it. ^_^ Sadly, reading story's is not my forte...reading chapter after chapter is just not somthing I enjoy. Though I do love to hear overviews, and character developments. RPGing is super fun also. ^^

fanfics are moderately fun to read...Yet I have a short term attention span wen reading them. It's quite rare to see me read through a whole fanfic. So far i'm managing to keep with CLF's his story has all kinds of elements I like. trickery, the evilist son of a gun I ever seen in a story, humor, & the occasional oh crud moments. I've tried to rea trixies but sadly has to much written & I didn't start from beginning. For me if read a fanfic I would like to read it as develops. why...I don't know.
As for me I oly wrote one fanfic & it was an epic failure....yet i'm gonna try again sometime.

I like in-depth Fan Fictions; also, I'm a spelling and grammar Nazi. :T14:

I love fanfics, yet, it's sometimes a pain when I can't think of WHAT to write! XD
Jumping into a new world, feeling what the character feels, and always left hanging at the edge of your seat! D: *cursad cliffhanger D:<*
