Only to be extremely biased against it, I would've loved to put Sonic '06 in the number one spot for bottom five, 'cause it sounds worse than any bad Sonic game (Or any other game, for that matter) I've ever played. But I haven't played it, so I don't know if it would be fair. Then again, S3&K is technically two separate games and probably shouldn't be considered as one, but still, meh.

Wait, what? I thought Sonic 3 & Knuckles is actually one game. There's Sonic the Hedgehog 3, then there's Sonic & Knuckles, and then there's Sonic 3 & Knuckles, basically a direct combination of the two with a few extra gimmicks.

That's what I meant. DX It's two games combined into one. You need both to get the whole experience. Otherwise it's just Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles on their own, which is still fun, but not as fun as both of them together.

They need each other to get the whole game is pretty much what I'm trying to say. XP Sorry for the confusion.

No flaming, just because I thought '06 was good. I only hated the loading in that game. That's it. Sonic Riders was easier or the Wii IMO. Personally, it was steering.

Absolutely best: Sonic 2 (Mega Drive)
Really damn good: Sonic Heroes
Very very good: SADX
Very good: Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Far beyond average: Sonic and Tails 1 and 2

I actually like almost all of the Sonic games, except these:
Sonic Labyrinth
Sonic 1 and 2 for the Game Gear
Sonic Blast

~Sonic CD is essentially Sonic 1 with some tune-ups I realise, but the music is awesome, the level layout is fantastic and let's not forget the time travel. And the variety of bosses - normal, survival, RACE?!?
~Sonic Adventure 2 is the height of 3D Sonic gaming - good plot, great variety in gameplay, a good cast of characters... it all worked perfectly.
~Now I bet some of you are raising your eyebrows at the '91 version of Sonic being included. So you can't rev up, you die if you land on spikes twice even whilst flashing, and the PAL version is pretty slow. But it still owns, and set the foundations for all other Sonic games to aspire to.
~Sonic 3 & Knuckles - as Sonic 3 was originally intended to be released as - was a genuine move up from Sonic 2. This game abused the power of the Mega Drive and was the pinnacle of 16-bit gaming. It introduced many exciting features that still last to this day and still makes my eyes bleed a little.
~Eye-bleedingly fast? WHOOO.
