Title: Tails relationship with Sonic

Everybody loves Tails and Sonic, but what made them more interesting to me initially was the brotherly side of them.

The problem is in resent game Tails has been very side-kick like, I'm a new school gamer, but I miss how the two would interact with each other.

Did anybody notice this?
On Sonic Adventure they were a lot more brotherly, maybe one of the things that's keeping the games from being at their top height is that element is missing. :.

It's just...sad. I remember back in the days when those old school Sonic cartoons played that you saw Sonic and Tails interact with each other as more than just friends. They were brothers. They had that special brotherly bond between them. Again, it's sad because they are now like so distant and are becoming far apart as friends, IMO. The new characters are getting in the way a bit.

Yes, I have notice this... And a lot of other people probably have too. :T6:

Sonic Chronicles is an exception to this trend, Bioware did a good job in the start of the game of establishing that they liked each other like they were brothers, and are best friends. In fact, Tails missed Sonic while he was away.

I haven't seen anything different, to be honest.. o.o Maybe they don't follow each around as much, but I'm pretty sure they still have that brotherly love towards one another.

Tails does help Sonic in Unleashed, too.

When I was younger, I always thought it sort of reflected my relationship with my brother - when we played Sonic 2 on the Genesis (remember that contraption?) he'd always play Sonic and I'd play as Tails. Which was good, because I kind of sucked back then, and Tails had infinite lives. Have they really phased that out in newer titles? That would be a shame.

I've noticed it a lot, really cripples the Franchise.

Well, from the show perspective, he still has a great relationship with Sonic. (It was rumored that in the 3rd season of SatAM, Tails and Sonic were supposed to bond much closer to one another. Too bad that 3rd season never came to be.)

In the game perspective, it's easy to see that Tails is become much more of minor character, but sadly, this IS what majority of the Sonic game fans wanted. Many people complained about "Too many characters to play as" and "Should be only Sonic like in the old games" and such. Well, Tails isn't Sonic the last time I checked, therefore he's losing his role as a main character, and the newer games are mostly featuring Sonic. Will he be completely lost? Of course not. It's not like SEGA to drop a character that's been in nearly every single Sonic game. What SEGA should have done with Unleashed is first have a multiplayer menu all together. :P With that, maybe be able to play through the stages as Tails or something, like you could in the older games.
