Title: Your First Reaction to Sonic
Trixie Prower - March 8, 2009 12:19 AM (GMT)
What was your first reaction to Sonic? did you start at the old school games? did a friend have you over to play Sonic Adventure? or did you start on the TV series cause you were curious?
How'd you find Sonic?
Comrade Firestar - March 8, 2009 12:24 AM (GMT)
I absolutely have no idea. The oldest memory of Sonic I have is watching AOSTH on TV and playing Sonic 2 on my MegaDrive and renting Sonic 3.

Hahahaha. Silly, I thought Sonic was a very silly person, and I was entranced with his speed and story.
Edit: And I first saw him on AoSTH
Lisa Fox - March 8, 2009 07:52 AM (GMT)
I believe I probably saw him first on AoStH, but I wasn't very interested then. After I got into Sonic Adventure (which is still my favorite Sonic game, by the way. ;D) I really got into Sonic and the gang. :D After that I started watching the show a lot more too. =P
Woppy - March 8, 2009 10:23 AM (GMT)
I can't remember if I got into the first Sonic game for the Master system, or I watched AOSTH before. Either way, I was 4 at the time. I loved it from the start, I don't remember my reaction though. We're talking 15 years there =P

It has to be said that I started way back in 2002, when I played the old Mega Drive games. Then the Chao sparked my interest once again (in '08), and then playing SADX returned my interest in the Sonic games (and Tails of course, since I finished his game)!
Súdruh Iceguy Tyehlicska II. - March 8, 2009 11:57 AM (GMT)
Baha, when I first put Sonic 2 into my Mega Drive and I saw the very first bits of the game, I was like "I WANT TO PLAY =O", lol xD
Missy - March 8, 2009 01:29 PM (GMT)
I saw my friend drawing the characters when I was 8, but I wasn't really interested in it much. When I turned maybe... 14 or 15 I saw a video of Sonic X on Youtube and I just had to see more. 8D
Thierry"TrueAim"Prower - March 8, 2009 05:11 PM (GMT)
It all started with the game Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for me... When I played that game I was thrilled about how fast some things were going. After that I saw the Dutch version of Sonic X on the TV, not a bad voice acting, though they still mess up Tails'.
Anyway, it all started with a simple game and evolved into something I really began to like.
Trixie Prower - March 8, 2009 06:44 PM (GMT)
For me, It was when I was real young and my Mom got Sonic 2, only I remember it was a McDonnalds offer that you can get Sonic 2 for CD when you order a certain thing.
I can remember it cause my Mom handed the box to me.
We played it, and I played it but I didn't understand it at all.
We used to call the Springs. "Boinkies" XDDDD
Then my brother started watching AOSTH, and I watched a little, wasn't really interested.
Then My bro got Sonic Adventure, and we loved it, though I wasn't really hooked rather then amused by how fun it was.
Then Sonic X came on, still wasn't interested.
Then one saterday morning I woke up thinking. "Why am I not watching Sonic X? everything else on TV is boring." So I started watching, and here I am now. XDD
AugieD - March 8, 2009 06:53 PM (GMT)
I think for me it was AoStH, but I did not really get into the series untill one of my friends showed me the old Genesis games and SEGA went 3rd party which allowed me to play SA2B and Sonic Advance. I did not like the game series at first but that changed quickly.

Just about this. My earliest memories of Sonic is the old shows and the original game for the Genesis.
Dudeman - March 9, 2009 12:41 AM (GMT)
I just woke up one morning, my sister was playing Sonic Adventure, and showed me how to play. I've played ever since.
Sunshine the fox - March 9, 2009 12:46 AM (GMT)
For me I believe I started with the TV series. I think have played the games a couple of times before that. Although, I can't really remember...
supertails07 - March 9, 2009 12:58 AM (GMT)
FIRST reaction? very first?
Well it was a demo of S3&K for computer on a disk with a bunch of demo software, I played it, had no idea what I was doing or how to play, and was left with a kinda WTF impression (granted, not actually WTF, as I didn't know the F-word back then).
SO... Yeah.

I believe the first Sonic game I've ever had was Shadow the Hedgehog, I played it, so I went to a Wiki article to read about it, liked it ever since.
Edwardvs Rex - March 10, 2009 06:31 PM (GMT)
well, I got into it very differently, I played eye toy's "Sega superstars" and played the sonic game on it. I loved the chaacter's appearance and so I researched it and played Sonic Heroes which I loved. I was obsessed with sonic after until two years ago when I calmed down to a fan status ^^
Flo - March 14, 2009 11:39 PM (GMT)
I discovered Sonic with Sonic Aosth, then Sonic 1 on Megadrive and I liked the universe very much.
But I really began to be a fan when I got Sonic Heroes on GameCube. ^^ I didn't buy the games before.
Lucifer Sam - March 15, 2009 05:16 AM (GMT)
Sonic 2 and AOSTH, with a little of the other cartoons and 2-D games thrown in for good measure. I was a wee lad growing up in early 90s suburban America. How do you think I reacted to it?
CreamCrazy - March 15, 2009 10:05 AM (GMT)
Sonic Adventure, 1999. I remember playing my first video game, I said this game was awesome, but I shifted my attention to Tails XD
Scrouge™ The Hedgehog - March 16, 2009 09:22 PM (GMT)
I didn't react as much to the old-gen Sonic. And I never knew about the comics. But when the next-gen Sonic came I gave my attention along with the comics. Heck, it got a huge reaction from me since I am hooked already.
TailsTheFoxPrower - March 17, 2009 10:34 AM (GMT)
When I was a kid, I always watched AoSTH whenever it was on, but it never translated over to the games for me. I hadn't played a Sonic game untill about one year ago. ^-^;
I found a Sonic 2 download for the computer, and became addicted to it, and an instant Tails fan. Ever since then I haven't been able to tear myself away from teh Sonic universe.

I have recently read in Gameformer that the Creator of Sonic wants the whole Franchise to die... >.<

TSSZ news told me that article was a hoax, Game Informer did that as a prank for their April issue.
Neo Metal Sonic - March 23, 2009 07:50 AM (GMT)
wanna know how I found Sonic? it started way back when I about........... around 5 (**** it cannot remember My age back then :TailsAshamed: ) and I loved it and that's how I found sonic. my memory is still old about that show XD
Hiroko K - March 23, 2009 06:58 PM (GMT)
I think... I think I got it from my mom :T14: She used to play the classic 2-D games. It was somewhere around 5 years ago... When she was playing SA2B, She left to get some water. I picked up the controler, and...
You know the rest :T15:
Roronao - March 24, 2009 01:13 AM (GMT)
I was like, four or so, and my cousin was playing Sonic 2 on the Genesis (he had some relatively primitive consoles). I asked him if I could play, he said no, and I pretty much pouted for the rest of the time. It got me pretty captivated though, he got to the boss of Chemical Plant Zone, and from then on out it pretty much inspired me to go buy a game. In other words, my reaction was pretty positive.
The Ultimate Werewolf - April 15, 2009 08:50 PM (GMT)
I was five , and we were moving . I was going through a box , and found a comic .
In it , a fox called Tails was fighting something .
Asked my parents if we could get some stuff like this comic , and you know the rest ...
