Description: Thierry's youth of dissaster

Thierry"TrueAim"Prower - March 16, 2009 07:33 PM (GMT)
I don't quite know what happened or what went wrong. These days I can only fathom what I did back then, yet memories are slowly returning to me. I write this to share you my story.

~** Chapter 1. A joyful kingdom **~

It was a happy spring day and the IronArrow kingdom was in the best mood thinkable. The queen was pregnant and was expected to get a baby soon. "Quickly... the preparations must be complete as soon as possible. The baby could be born any moment now!" The court master shouted at the servant's and decorators who were busy decorating the castle. The cooks of the castle were busy making all sorts of food. They were making over hours as they wanted to make the food not only for the Queen and King's family, but also for the entire kingdom. "Why didn't we saw this coming already... Why did we begin so late with decorating?" The court master moaned and groaned as the preparations weren't making much progress that fast.

The queen wasn't in her bed, but looked at the far stretched forests that covered most of the kingdom. The sun shone bright on the leaves which glimmered in the light. Some rain fell a couple of hours ago.
"My love... shouldn't you stay in bed?" The king said and walked up to her, took her hand and kissed her on the cheek. "I am unsure my love... what if things go wrong... what if the baby suffers from a bad disease that cannot be cured?" She looked at her husband with sad eyes of uncertainty.
The king stroke her face and comforted her. "Don't worry my love... it's a fighter... it will be perfectly fine. You did feel his light kicks down there right?" The king smiled and placed his hand on her belly.
The queen placed her head on her husbands chest. "And to think this child will take our place eventually... I can't wait to take the child there... he will love all the books I am going to read for it before he goes to sleep." -"hahaha... I think the child first needs to be a little older to make such a journey there. Don't worry... The books won't disappear. There are plenty of stories to read." The king replied and chuckled.

"My Queen... what are you doing out of bed? You know you can get a cold from just standing there. Besides the kingdom won't walk away." A women stood in the door of the room and folded her arms and smiled. It was her royal maiden that stood there. The queen sighed and turned around to look at her.
"You are so overprotective Delis... I know the kingdom won't simply walk away, but that doesn't mean I can't look at it." The queen replied with a smile and on a bright tone. "I'd best get back into bed, dear." She kissed her husband and went back into the large bed again.
"My king... would you please leave her to give her some rest if I may ask you?"
-"B-but of course... I am going to check on the preparations and see if no one in the kingdom is forgotten. This is a day to celebrate!" The king cheered and walked out of the room, silently closing the door.

The guards who stood guard at the door quickly saluted. "be at ease my good men... it is a day to celebrate so take it more easy." The king said and patted on one of the soldiers shoulders. "Thank you sir..." The guards said at the same time and both smiled. The king smiled back and headed through the hall to the large stairs.
"Court master!"
-"Yes my lord?"
"Court master... how are the preparations going?" The court master sighed before giving answer. "It... takes time my lord... We are halfway done... The cooks are making splendid progress and our decorators are very busy decorating the castle as we speak. The town is being decorated by the citizens in you and your husbands honour, as well as that of the child."
-"Splendid... you are making good progress." The king said in a good mood as his face looked satisfied and happy, decorated with a warm smile.

~** Chapter 2. A prince is born **~

"e-emm... my King... may I ask you something?" The king looked at his court master with a raised eyebrow.
-"of course... speak good man." The kind said as he swung an arm across the court masters shoulder.
"Well... what would the child's name be my lord?"
-"ahahaha... don't tell this to anyone yet... but if the child will be a girl, she will be called Tatiana... and if the child is a boy then he will be called Thierry."
"Wonderful names my lord, absolutely wonderful." The court master applauded.

Back in the Royal bedroom.
"How is my queen feeling today?" Delis asked while she tucked the queen in. "Nervous, dear... nervous... I can't wait until the child is born." The queen said and sighed while she stared outside of the window. The wind was blowing through it and it stroke her face. A sudden pain started to come from her belly and she knew what it was. She had these things before, but now she was certain... the child was going to be born. "Ahh! G-get my husband... the child is coming... aahh!" The queen started panting and tightly gripped the blanket. The maiden was out in a moment and shouted for the king.

"MY KING! MY KING!" She shouted as she saw the king talking with the court master. The court master and the king looked at her, but the king knew what it could be. "My king... the child-" "Let us go to her aid... come with me court master... all the help is needed." the king spoke and hastened himself to the bedroom. The guards saluted again. "Please... leave your post for a moment... go and get some thing to eat.. something good. You have my permission go now... The child is going to be born." The king cheered and entered the room before the Guards could say thank you.

"My dear... huff... the baby.... hah... it's coming... hehehe..." The queen panted "I know my dear... I am with you..." The king grabbed her hand and she squeezed in it.. A lot of groaning was heard from inside the room, until...
"It's beautiful... he is beautiful..." The king said with tears of joy in his eyes. "Hello there... Thierry... my son..." The queen whispered and kisses his forehead.

I agree! :) Don't be afraid to take a moment in the writing to truly explore the space your characters are inhabiting! It goes a long way to further involving your reader not only into the minds of the characters but also the world they inhabit. It is simply my own suggestion! :P

Well this certainly is a surprise... I thought it was rather... boring. And yes, I did thought of it, but I thought it would make the post a little to long and unorganized. Seems I thought wrong and will not make that same mistake again ^^. Thanks for the suggestion ^^

I will leave you guess what all the ------ stands for ^^

Chapter 3 coming in:

~** Chapter 3. Time to celebrate **~

Word of the born prince spread like wild fire through the densely forested kingdom. The kingdom was very happy and thrilled to see the prince someday, the prince who would rule the kingdom one day, the person they would eventually serve.

The kingdom was more of a forest which shielded against many threats, the fierce sun, the flooding rain, the hard storms and many other things. The forest was inhabited with all the people of the kingdom, loyal to the King and family of the king, who lived underneath it's dense leaf blankets. Sun did got through much of the forest through the tiny holes in the sea of leafs. It's was neither warm or cold, it felt like outside of the forest, in the open. Many rope bridge's hanged in between the plateaus who hanged on the trunks of the tree. The forest feed the kingdom and protected it and in return the people protected the forest and looked after it.

The castle itself looked like an overgrown castle with many branches covering it's stone walls. The castle had an extraordinary entry way, normally castle's had a bridge, but this castle was protected by the forest which shielded gates with thick thorn bushes who were able to even pierce thick armour. Above the main gates, banner with the Ironarrow family weapon draped hang there. Although the castle looked completely overgrown it gained beauty, the stone castle and plant life looked in perfect harmony and made each other complete. The most distinct feature the castle had were it's 5 huge towers who were mostly used as look out towers and guard towers. Although it seemed impossible to see through the leafs of the forest below it could see for miles away, the sight you gained up there was simply put... astonishing.

As the citizens of the kingdom and forest protected each other so did the royal family protect the forest which in return protected the family.

The kingdom was in perfect harmony with nature itself.

The forest was not only populated by the people of the kingdom, but also by spirits of the forest and druids, who were thought to be extinguished long ago. They were the messengers of the forest as they looked like tiny bright lights that flew through the forest. Though there is some trouble in cooperation between the citizens and the spirits of the forest from time to time, they are good friends with each other and everyone has a spirit friend.
The druids were a more quiet folk who didn't really want to mix in with the others in the kingdom for they thought the others didn't understand what they were doing. Only the King and it's family were the ones they spoke to.

In the bedroom of the King and queen things were... quiet. the born prince was asleep. Delis and the court master waited outside of the room, after they cleaned up the bedroom, for they had to make preparations for the celebrating of the born prince. The king sat besides the queen on the bed and kissed her on the cheeck. "He is beautiful my love.... a true prince... our son." The king softly said as he tried to keep his voice down so he didn't wake the baby. "Yes my love... our child... but, ---------------------------------------

But let's not over rush things and get ahead of ourselves. After all, he is still young and has a complete life ahead of him." The King said and stroke Thierry's face. The queen looked uncertain, she was... troubled as she was affraid of what Thierry would become. She perished the thought and began thinking about the things she wanted to do with Thierry. She couldn't wait to show Thierry that place, the journey would be long, but definitely worth it. Thierry however was to young to take that journey yet so the Queen had to wait.

"Let us have some rest... I am wearied and tired... giving birth is exhausting work." The queen said and laughed weakly. The king silently laughed as well and took Thierry in his arms and walked to a cradle on the other side of the room. The cradle was grown out of the tree that stood there, it was a gift made by the forest itself to congratulate the King and Queen on their newborns. The king gave Thierry a kiss on the head and put him into the cradle. He gently put a blanket over Thierry to keep him warm. The king walked back to the bed and sat besides the queen and smiled at her. "You have been strong my love... you must rest now..." The king said and stroke her face. The queen smiled and placed her head on the Kings lap and fell asleep.

A gentle breeze entered the room again, it swirled around Thierry a few times and then gently blew a warm feeling on the King and Queens faces.
