Title: ALERT: Virus

Cute lil Fox - May 27, 2009 08:07 PM (GMT)
Invisionfree currently has a virus, and the invisionfree members are effected, including us. If you see a window pop up saying "are you sure you want to navigate awya from this page?" DO NOT engage it, it is the virus. I have also experienced random events of adobe acrobat opening up.

invisionfree is aware, we just need to be carefull until they fix it. Until then, be carefull not to engage the virus.

RECCOMENDATION: Run firefox without add on scripts enabled, this is the safest way to visit forums for now. If you dont' have firefox, you can download it for free Here

Side note: The contest polls officialy end Tuesday! So get your votes in before they close ^_^

I hope the benefits of having a Mac comes in handy in this situation...

Ohhh... that sucks! D:

I think I've actually been getting those for a while now - good thing I've always been clicking no. I might have clicked yes a long time ago, but I don't know - if I did it's been a long time.

But don't worry guys! The virus shouldn't even be that bad and I'm quite sure if you DO get it, some of your anti-virus programs can remove them - and if all else fails you can always attempt to remove the virus manually.

If you start getting pop-ups, if your computer starts to malfunction by opening programs or doing any other weird things, just post somewhere! Someone can help you - I might even be able to help a bit. :B

Dude, read CLF's post. It has nothing to do with hacking a game.

Haha! Yeah, hopefully! :] Even if it does I'm very sure it's not a problem we can't help fix. ^^ Maybe I can post a topic in a little bit on tips about viruses and removing them, and any other computer geeks who know more could contribute. I totally bet you it's nothing! ;D

I have a PSP that has internet, no windows are saying on my PSP "are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?" if yall have a wireless router & a PSP then use your PSP, I didin't have any problems when I used my PSP

Morgan the Hedgehog - May 27, 2009 09:51 PM (GMT)
I've had my luck on not getting any pop-ups yet. *knocks on wood*

When I saw this I was kind of scared. I hope the virus gets fixed as soon as possible.

Oh man.

Oh god.

Oh MAN.

Oh GOD.

Right after attempting to click away from this topic, it came up with this message. I pressed cancel, so I stayed on the same page. I tried another button. The message came up, so I stayed on the same page. I pressed the big red X. The message came up, so I stayed on the same page.

It's terrifying. Only did I get away from this helldemon error was by using the ever-glorified Ctrl+Alt+Delete.

Gentlemen, I'm scared.

It's a problem with IE. =/

I was on at school and I couldn't leave the page. Our computers aren't enabled with the task manager, so I kinda got stuck with it. xD; But I'm at home now, and I have Firefox, and I'm having no problems. lol

DashXFox - May 28, 2009 03:08 AM (GMT)
(Look out!) It's gonna melt your face right off of your skull
(Look out!) And make your iPod only play Jethro Tull
(Look out!) And tell you knock-knock jokes while you're tryin' to sleep
(Look out!) And make you physically attracted to sheep
(Look out!) Steal your identity and your credit cards
(Look out!) Buy you a warehouse full of pink leotards
(Look out!) Then cause a major rift in time and space
And leave a bunch of Twinkie wrappers all over the place
That's right, it's a...

Delete immediately before someone gets hurt

...Sorry I thought it seemed appropriate.

CAPTAIN CAPSLOCK - May 28, 2009 07:39 AM (GMT)
Haven't got it so far. Hooray.

Wait, it's a virus that affects adobe acrobat? I had that on my old computer! It was annoying beyond belief.

That would be an infected PDF trying to open, so it's not acrobat specifically.

Just had it try to download for me, anti-virus alert popped up. Shouldn't be a problem though. (I'm using a mac, but the anti-virus seems to detect windows viruses).

So make sure any PDF reader plug-ins are disabled, and that your browser will ask you what to do with a PDF file, and not automatically download it or anything.

Spedz - May 28, 2009 11:32 PM (GMT)
I never was sure of what to do with annoying pop-ups. As much as I use it Firefox does me no good. IE windows also pop-up. And now I've been victimized by this "Are you sure you want to blah blah blah" stuff. All I can do is rely on Spybot to keep this ancient computer living.

tin spaghetti - May 29, 2009 01:03 PM (GMT)
Firefox ftw.
I haven't had any silly pop-up yet n___n

AlyssaTheHybrid91 - May 29, 2009 07:20 PM (GMT)
So far, I haven't had any of the pop-ups either but I won't stick around long enough for the chance to occur. And plus my computer won't let me download it because I'm not the Administrator >.> my dad is... So, After I take care of some messages, off I go.
