Well, I wouldn't consider Tails Sonic's sidekick. It is right, Tails is Sonic's oldest and best friend, but Knuckles is Sonic's sidekick because he helps Sonic in battles n' stuff. Tails plays with the machines and builds stuff to help out Sonic to give him more of a chance to win, while Knuckles is actually by Sonic's side fighting - hence, sidekick. Well, just thinking about that just now, I guess that's how I'd say it. =\

i always thought they were best buds and sidekicks. Mainly cause Tails could keep up with his speed

Knuckles almost hates Sonic... sidekicks? Um, no. All Knuckles wants is to better Sonic... x.x Tails is a much more suited sidekick, since he assists Sonic all the time but never does the main battle.

Yes, Sonic and Tails may be best friends, but when you really think about it, Knuckles is really suited to be his side-kick.

Knuckles does not hate Sonic, there just very competive with each other, but still good friends. As for Knuckles beings sonics "famous" sidekick, I guess he is sonics sidekick, because he helps him fight battles, but so does Tails. But when you think of Sonics sidekick Tails is the first to come to mind. So I guess you can consider both his sidekicks

Tails is really his true sidekick. And i kinda think their dweling too much on this mechanic thing. When Tails first came out he was known for mostly his speed.

im sick and tired of hearing Tails as a side kick. thats how he being hated just like luigi. ive been seeing anti-Tails stuff on Newgraounds.com and its pissing me off. to me Tails is more of Sonic's partner, homies, brothers thats what i like to hear

Don't know what he would be considered but to me, he's just always been Sonic's best friend who likes to trek along in adventures. He sometimes might be considered that but Sega never has called him a "sidekick".

Knuckles is more of a pseudo-rival to Sonic. He hasn't been that good of friends with him (until the recent games), and he used to be tricked by Robotnik to go against Sonic.

Knuckles is just plain one of Sonic's best friends. Tails would be his oldest friend. Bio wouldn't mean anything, so long it sounds true. Heck, they could even say Amy is Sonic's sidekick and self-appointed girlfriend.

Knuckles is also more of a rival to Sonic, to the fact that Sonic Adventure featured a battle between them. And the numerous times they fought.

Yeah i agree... Sonic is always showing off and he is a little prick... I think Tails is better off with Shadow... he is stronger... and cooler.

Tails is not sonic's sidekick. I hate when people say that. When you hear Tails, you think of sonic. Thats not good! Tails should be his own person so when you hear Tails, you think Tails, not "sonic's sidekick".

I dont think Tails is Sonics Sidekick, I just think that Tails really looks up to Sonic alot, and Sonic looks out for his little bud.

Well Sega Sonic Team has been making alot of Crappy Games and Storylines so I think eventually their going to crash they messed Everything up....

Uh i think of tails a two-tailed fox,who is sonic's best friend who helps him,and Knuckles helps to they are 3 friends,they team up and stop eggman from his evil-doing....

yeah that sums it up but Sega is going Down very slowly ever since Shadow the Hedgehog(Game not charecter) Yeah that really ruined their Rep.

It's not an accurate bio of Tails' character because it says Tails has been Sonic's friend for "over 15 years" which is not true because Tails is only 8 - 10 years of age!

But I personally don't think Sonic has a sidekick because all the other characters are just his friends.

Well, I am sure they mean the Sonic GAMES, not how long he has been actually been friends with him ^^;. But even that might be inaccurate since Tails has been in the Sonic series for just over 14 years ^^;. So it is defently an error on their part ^^;.

Also, Sonic Team really needs to have a complete "redo" on their entire staff, and they need a really good leader as well...

Hmm...well now that I think about it, Tails does show a bit of the qualities of a sidekick. I mean, sidekicks are always with the hero and are the main people who help the hero. That has been what Tails is all about for quite a few games.

Tails being Sonic's best friend isn't an excuse to get away from that fact, because aren't sidekicks in other series the main hero's best friend too? So in a way, that just kind of makes Tails more of a sidekick.

Actually, tons of series do that. For example, Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist is 14 years old, though the series just came out a few years ago.

Haven't we already established that Tails was not Sonic's sidekick? He's Sonic's bestest best friend. He's the bestest friend a hero could ever have.

Man, I'm noticing alot of people dissing Sonic for whatever hooty reason. "Tails don't need Sonic's ugly mug" Their right he dosen't, but I don't believe Tails needs to be Sonic's sidekick. Though I remember Sonic saying somewhere recently in a game I think that he would've been lost/screwed without Tails help. So Sonic must still consider him a really good friend/sidekick.
