Title: Forum Plans and Updates

Riikka - January 31, 2007 08:40 PM (GMT)
TTFF is currently in the process of Updating and integrating new methods.

One that has just be Enacted is a new Forum group. some of you have already moved yourself to the new group by posting, and having more than 30 posts. This group was created to remove the need for the 20 post rule in the links forum.

This along with other things that will come soon is directly related to bettering the Your experiance on the forum.

sometime next week Staff with start a process of making the rules smaller, clearer, and more effective. When we finish that it is likely that the rules will be placed in the rules forum for discussion, and then placed up.

several other things may come, and when or if they do staff will keep you all updated.

we hope you have are having a nice time here, and we wish you continued enjoyment of the boards.

Sukaretto Kitsune - January 31, 2007 08:45 PM (GMT)
Sounds very intersting and something that could help the forum out a lot more. Yay!

Riikka - February 19, 2007 01:41 AM (GMT)
Rules are almost finished. staff is just reviewing some drafts now. After staff has ok'd the rules, we will post them for general discussion, and if we find some comments to be good we'll edit the rules a bit.

Staff also plans to sponsor a competition bi monthly from what discussion's in staff room have gone towards. we will give more details in the future.

As mentioned in the workshop Goodbye forum, and the fan games forum no longer up your post count.

finally as mentioned in awards questions there will be no more awards, sorry.

Immortal Cookie - February 19, 2007 04:54 AM (GMT)
No more awards probably sounds like a good idea, along with having a competition instead. When the awards come, I hate to see how certain people complain about how it is all a popularity contest, and they mention me a whole lot, and it sorta ticks me off sometimes. People complain about them all the time, and somepeople make a big deal out of it and feel all upset and have the need to depart from TTFF, because they feel neglected due to not getting an award.

I wonder what kind of competitions there will be. ^_^

EvilOreo22 - February 19, 2007 05:39 AM (GMT)
I think we should have something like sig of the month, or drawing of the month or something like that, since a lot of people here like to draw and stuff.

Immortal Cookie - February 19, 2007 05:56 AM (GMT)
I think that'd be a nice idea. It would be sort like awards, but then not really. Ah, I'm confooooosed. D:

Maybe we could have things like:
Drawing and Sig of the month, as EvilOreo22 said
Most Helpful of the month
Best Spritist or Pixel Artist of themonth
Best fan fic of the month

And so may more, kinda like awards but ya get to have that title like for a whole month. And here's another idea: MAYBE, if you staff peoples WANNA, you could change the member's or staff member's Member Group name so that the award they've won is just that. Let's say EvilOreo22 wins the Best Sig of the month, then you could change his member title to best sig of the month, ya know? But if it's way too much work, I understamd. :3

Riikka - February 19, 2007 05:59 AM (GMT)
you guys are kinda diverging into the awards in a sense. staff's version of contests is kind of different from that. we'll give details later :)

anyway on another not. Sonic general discussion forum is now made...it is to replace the archie and sonic toon forum. archie becuase it is inactive, and sonic toon becuase taht forum is suppose to be the misc forum for that area, but it does not cover enough area. for that reason they were combined into general sonic discusion

Immortal Cookie - February 19, 2007 06:04 AM (GMT)
Oh all right. I'll just sit back and wait for the details then. ^-^

Sounds like a good idea. A Tails AND a Sonic genera discussion. Sounds nice. =3

EvilOreo22 - February 19, 2007 06:10 AM (GMT)
I'm not saying an award for each category like that. Almost every forum has wats called the SOTW aka sig of the week. Thats not like an award. Thats something that people actually work hard for and people vote for based on specific things people enter. Something like a most active award is pointless because the person who was most active should win it automatically. Thats how the awards turned into a popularity contest because the least active person could have won it. That just doesn't make sense to me to be honestly.

Also, the sotw, or of us, sotm, or whatever you would want, could have a certain theme for that week/month to make things more interesting. Something like Tails, Sonic, Cream, or even stuff like blue, green, small, grunge, abstract, whatever you can think of.

Riikka - February 19, 2007 06:12 AM (GMT)
ya thats a cool idea eviloreo

Sukaretto Kitsune - February 19, 2007 01:43 PM (GMT)
Yes, that sounds very dandy and nice =P The winners won't be picked by popularity this time

Immortal Cookie - February 19, 2007 09:12 PM (GMT)
I like that idea, EvilOreo. Sounds nice. ^^

Riikka - February 22, 2007 02:45 AM (GMT)
the awards are officially packed away in the closet now. the forum deleted, and staff is focusing on ironing out the details for the compotitions

may the awards rest in piece :P (unless something brings them back somehow xD)

edit:

contests are being set up and all...first staff one will be april

Immortal Cookie - March 1, 2007 04:13 AM (GMT)
Lol, the contest forum is dead. *Throws flowers over it* *Sniffs* It was a good forum.. ;_; *smack'd* xD

A staff contest? Isn't that where the peoples vote for a member to be on staff? I thoughts we wern't doin' that anymores. =P

Riikka - March 1, 2007 04:23 AM (GMT)
no its a contest run by staff, which means unique prizes :P

Immortal Cookie - March 1, 2007 04:25 AM (GMT)
Ohhhh I see....mmmm, unique prizes, lawl I wonder what we could win.. xD

Riikka - March 24, 2007 03:04 AM (GMT)
hahaha been too long xD.

anywho i updated the rules finally. any thing wrong with them post in the workshop.

we are thinking of x'ing the ability to use html, but do not worry we plan to still make html features available possibly by bbcode. this is not certain yet, but staff is discussing.

staff contest comes up after spring break...

im also thinking of commissioning whoever would like to make a member handbook.

i am also thinking about disallowing uploading of attachments because it uses a lot of our memory and we are perpetually over the limit as a result. this does not mean you cant use uploading for avi's just attachments to posts.

Dash_ZERO - March 27, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
I found it funny how you guys were just drifting back to an awards based thing again xD

Riikka - March 28, 2007 02:12 AM (GMT)
dont see how a contest as like the old awards but ok

either way members and really no one can upload attachments in their posts anymore. if you want to load a picture, you'll have to link it

Riikka - April 16, 2007 12:14 AM (GMT)
