Title: Thumbspin
danebo47 - May 9, 2006 09:09 PM (GMT)
I can do the TS both normal and reverse, but I can NEVER get it to spin more than once, it always lands in writing position and I just can't get it to stay on my thumb.. any tips to keeping it balanced or how to push it? I want to be able to control how many spins I can do :P

bend your thumb down so it spins on the knuckle, and for me, i can get more thumbspins if i push the pen quicker rather than taking a long time.

Bend your thumb down at the second knuckle as this is the one which the pen typically spins around when you do a thumbaround. You might want to bend the first knuckle of your thumb up a little at the same time. Push the same way as you would with a TA.
If it helps you get the hang of them you can cheat by spinning on the top of your thumb and index finger. Do a TA but after the push touch your index to the tip of your thumb making the 'OK sign'.

It makes a significant difference if you use a perfectly balanced pen or pencil, you'll feel it when it gets spinning on that perfect COP

i heard it was like a TA position, but how do i transfer that to the top of my thumb.
i also heard the pen starts out on top of your middel finger??
and can someone also tell me how it gets to the top of your thumb?
(lunasol can do TS so im jealous <_< )

start at TA position and after u push off , bend ur thumb so that the joint is higher than the nail/tip of ur thumb. takes abit of practice to ge tthe timing down

If you are doing a TA properly the pen should already be passing over the top of your thumb. When starting out you can let the pen rotate on your thumb and index as it would in a full tap. To get more spins you need to spin the pen on the knuckle of your thumb but that is a lot more difficult.

it kidna spins to the point whree its on my index
like a idex spin O_o
with that tho i can get 3 rotations ;)
FallenSeraph - June 9, 2006 02:45 AM (GMT)
hmm really? my TS always spins on the fleshy part of thumb below the joint
lunasol - June 9, 2006 05:56 AM (GMT)
lol...just start it out in the TA position, push with middle (or whatever you normally start TA with), instead of letting it go around your thumb (like a TA), bend your thumb a little (like FallenSeraph stated earlier).
if you need anymore help...get on msn more often and i can talk to you there.
sorry for making you jealous that i can do a TS :pp

Also read nhk's tutorial:
http://www.geocities.jp/thetroposphere/psi_tutorials.htmlIf the pen transfers to your index then you have to move your index farther away from your thumb. If the pen is spinning on your index and you push it into another thumbaround (using your middle finger), you have yourself a fake triple. ;)

If it ends up spinning on your index try starting with the COP in a different location.
EDIT: Man... It just hit me. You spin bictories. If you have a mod with more momentum try using that.

Every time i try this trick the pen seems to go over my thumb even though i bend my thumb knuckle. Am I using to much power when i try doing this trick? Because it seems to go out of control and drop <_< <_< .
