Title: Learning Order

Madlogic - June 16, 2006 03:12 AM (GMT)
I have looked on all the forums I can think of and can only find learning orders for the fundamental tricks and a few of their variations.

What I'm looking for is a more elaborate list of a suggested learning order for a large amount of tricks, just to give myself some objectives to attain.

I know someone must have done this before - I just find myself overwhelmed by the enormus Trick List, I have no clue what I should be doing next!

i really dont suggest following that....just work your way up from the fundamentals and watch vids...youll pick up everything :P the worst thing to do is over research

wat im doing is learning the fundamentals and their rev versions. then jus watch videos and stuff. find wat tricks look cool to u and learn it. try and slap it in a combo. this way ur learning is more geared towards developing a style u lik and want to spin with
of course u dunt want to be lik oh that neobak fall looks hot, ill learn it w/e even knowing backaround

performers' path: learn all fundamentals and their reverse. Then learn all tricks in any order.

researchers' path: learn a few basic tricks, then develop a new branch of tricks and focus on that.

pen modders' path: learn all fundamentals + variations + backaround and stop learning tricks.

low ambition showoff PSers' path: learn sonic or TA. then maybe their harmonics.

stupid guys' path: learn neobak fall first.

I actually thought about making a revised learning order, but then I realized that it was really only like a classification guide, because it wouldn't be used much past shadows or backarounds, because by that time, you've read enough that you know what to learn.

Well on the wiki there is Learning Orders, which isn't extensive as it is just a test, but people can also post what tricks they learnt first.

Hope that helps (btw people are welcome to add their learning order)

There really is no good guide to learning order because it varies so much from person to person. Basically learn tricks you like the look and feel of. One way I decide what to learn next is I find a combo a like and try to learn all the tricks in it or even just watch the tack-on game and learn the new tricks you see added.

Yeah so far I've just been trying to learn new tricks I see in the tackon games .. I guess a learning order isn't the best idea afterall because it doesn't help you create a personal style.

Maybe I'll take the trick list and try to find a video of someone doing each trick and link the video beside the trick name .. would that be useful?

That would be really neat but if you were going to invest that amount of time into compiling videos and shit I would do it for PSconclave. I mean the site is pretty new but they have tonnes of good info. I can seen it getting big in the future so it's good to post more info on there.
