Title: Moonwalk Infinities
grsbmd - June 20, 2006 10:41 PM (GMT)
When you do a regular double/ triple [extended] infinity, the pen spins counterclockwise the entire time. When I say moonwalk infinity I'm referring to a trick that still uses the same direction of wipers but in which the pen cycles in an opposite direction. I'm going to attempt to analyze the tricks I've thought of systematically.
Infinity normal is a completely symmetric trick, so moonwalk infinity normal is the same as infinity normal.
I was thinking earlier today that since I am able to do a forward charge in a reverse extended infinity, I should be able to a reverse charge with a normal extended infinity. I'm convinced that this trick could be made smooth with practice.
Moonwalk Extended Infinity: Wiper rev T1 -> Rev Charge 12 -> Wiper rev 12
A double infinity is executed slightly asymmetrically, usually Wiper Rev Fall -> Figure 8 rise. The different executions also accompany different tilts of the hand. A moonwalk double infinity would be done Reverse-Figure-8 Fall -> Wiper Rev Rise. In this trick all rotations appear clockwise. So far in practice, it ends up looking a lot like a reverse double infinity, but the two can be differentiated by the direction of the Wipers.
Moonwalk Double Infinity: (Hand tilted to the right) Wiper Rev T1 -> Rev Figure 12-23 -> (Hand tilted left) Wiper Rev 23 -> Wiper Rev 12
Of course, the moonwalk concept could be applied to reverse and inverse infinities as well.
So in summary, the premise of this is infinity tricks in which the wipers maintain the same direction but the charges and transfers spin the opposite direction of the normal version.

I've done the moonwalk extended infinity before, but I don't really understand the moonwalk double infinity. Can you post a video?

leviathan trying to learn tricks? X_X shocking
and i feel this trick has been made already

Of course, there's always something new to learn. :)
I think I have the moonwalk double infinity now.
Alhough, I don't think moonwalk infinity is a good name for these combos. Moonwalk means the pen is spinning in the same direction, but going in the opposite direction in the hand than the normal trick.
I don't think there can be moonwalk infinities. But there's moonwalk infinity falls.
Moonwalk infinity fall would be the 2nd half of an infinity. Infinity fall is wiper rev T1 > passT1-12. Moonwalk infinity fall would be the rise part, wiper rev 12 > pass rev 12-T1. Same thing for double infinity fall.

I don't really know if moonwalk is the proper term. It's just what I came up with. These tricks are related to reverse infinities the same way the two devil's sonic reverses are related. i.e. Does devil's sonic reverse = Rev shadow -> rev twisted sonic or rev twisted sonic -> 2nd half rev shadow? The "moonwalk" infinites are just a different way of reversing the motion.
I think I'm going to make some videos tonight.
EDIT: I posted videos of Moonwalk Extended Infinity, Moonwalk Double Infinity, and Moonwalk Triple Infinity at my cheap site:

EDIT #2: I think they are actually Moonwalk Extended Double Infinity and Moonwalk Extended Triple Infinity

It's different, but it looks like pretty much the same trick. I think it's just a difference in the charge style. I do mine very flatly, and you do it the other way.

nice trick ! i have to learn this !
edit 1: learnt it :D

what the hell, ive been doing moonwalk infinity for long thinking it was reversed infinity.

yeah, my friend started do them like a half year back, and he, too, thought it was the reverse :S but now he knows ;)
