Title: Tipped Sonic

Leviathan - April 6, 2006 04:01 AM (GMT)
They move the pen back and forth between the thumb and another finger. You can see it in any korean video. I know freshgel does it a few times in the UKPS and FPSB collab. Does it have an english name?

slickhare - April 6, 2006 04:34 AM (GMT)
not sure what you're talking about....TA harmonic? that's what it sounds like to me....

Donk3y - April 6, 2006 04:50 AM (GMT)
to me it sounds like index around harmonic

index around > back around ( rev index around)

xz64 - April 6, 2006 04:53 AM (GMT)
Sounds like a thumb charge to me

Leviathan - April 6, 2006 05:10 AM (GMT)
No, it's not any of those. Here's a vid.
http://www.zippyvideos.com/3060809944687046/korean_trick/

sonic > twisted sonic > gunman > korean trick > pass rev 23-34 > sonic rise

sicxer_ - April 6, 2006 05:16 AM (GMT)
Looks like a 1/2 sonic rev t1-12 > sonic rev t2-23. I've seen this move in a korean collab that was posted here before, but in that trick it seemed to stay in t1 and was linked to a ta/rev ta after that trick. Some called it a t-t1 charge.

Leviathan - April 6, 2006 05:24 AM (GMT)
The trick doesn't have to move down the hand, I just did it that way. If it stays in the same spot, what would you call it then? It's not really a charge, since it doesn't have circular motion.

Donk3y - April 6, 2006 05:53 AM (GMT)
BAD CHARGE!!!!!!!!!
or maybe something else too...
haha i don't know what you'd call it
but its mostly a charge

no, a backaround is a variation of a fingerless indexaround reverse.

as a 'no-spin' sonic is possible (in other words, a noobish sonic lol), when the pen doesn't move down the hand, it probably is a reverse pseudo sonic T1-(12)T1.

ahh now i see what you're talking about! i've been wondering about this myself. you're talking about the motion where the pen moves up and down, while moving from T1-12?

DarkArcher - April 6, 2006 01:05 PM (GMT)
There's also that thumb charge that alot of Koreans are doing, it flows really well.

fratleym - April 6, 2006 05:10 PM (GMT)
I think this is the trick you search leviathan
I have made it quick it's been a while I'm perfecting it I know that A_Qui does it well too
here is a link

http://www.zippyvideos.com/152390230469269...antrickyouwant/

for the breakdown this is twisted sonic rise-> neosonic 12-1T-> charge T1 (a full one)->Fl TA rev

Here's a vid taken from PDS's 6th.
korean trick.wmv

I think its in there and also the charge T1 to fingerless re. TA

Leviathan - April 6, 2006 08:55 PM (GMT)
That's not the trick I'm looking for fratleym. Wouldn't that be a charge rev T1?

The guy does it in the vid Ivan posted. The noob sonic rev.

tokuwee15 - April 6, 2006 10:39 PM (GMT)
well, from that video, i wouldn't call it a 'noob' sonic reverse. it was very professionally done.

so...it is just a sonic (reverse) with the thumb. yay. B)

Yakacen - April 6, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
man that trick is really easy, like Tokuwee said, all it is is just a revers sonic using the thumb instead of any other fingers, I have been doing this trick long before I have ever seen any koreans do it in their vids. :)

Eso - June 6, 2006 08:34 PM (GMT)
Does anybody know the Korean name for this trick? To be honest, it really doesn't seem like a Sonic Reverse that's done with the thumb... Seems like a whole new trick since it uses different motions.

specter290 - June 6, 2006 08:45 PM (GMT)
this thread is really old. jsut call it rev fl ta.

well...it is a sonic reverse with the thumb. it doesn't use different motions. its just that the unique positioning of the thumb makes the trick look different. this also applies to many other tricks, such as thumbaround. a thumbaround doesn't look a lot like an indexaround, but an indexaround looks similar to a middlearound.

no.

specter290 - June 7, 2006 04:21 AM (GMT)
whoops i meant rev fl charge sorry

sry to bump such a old thread, but i got a renewed interest ni this trick and i didnt want to start a new topic. okay so i get the motion and all to make it move. but i dont get how to create the big up and down swing. it jus kinda pops down to teh lower finger. shuold i jus keep on practicing, or is there some wierd cop positioning or trick im not getting?

Leviathan - August 3, 2006 05:35 PM (GMT)
You just move your thumb back and forth, like that one rubber pencil trick.

ChucKo - August 3, 2006 07:18 PM (GMT)
..mm we haven't decided on the name yet, right?

I've been wondering what this trick was for ages, but since it doesn't look that sweet, I wasn't that interested in learning it. I'm learning it now though, just for the fun of it
-Ko

Alucard - August 3, 2006 07:44 PM (GMT)
hm i would say inactive sonic rev because only the pen doesnt do anything

grsbmd - August 3, 2006 07:50 PM (GMT)
Is anyone here also on PDS? Cause we could just ask them what they call it?

Eburt - August 3, 2006 07:52 PM (GMT)
how about Sonic Rev 0? as in it does 0 spins... well it spins a little, but not enough for it to count IMO

FallenSeraph - August 3, 2006 08:13 PM (GMT)
lol i lik the sound of korean sonic, but then it might create this whole korean/weiss thing again. although it wouldnt be that bad this time, considering there is a glaring difference

patte - August 3, 2006 08:29 PM (GMT)
just call it rev T-sonicT1-12

ChucKo - August 3, 2006 08:42 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (patte @ Aug 3 2006, 08:29 PM)
just call it    rev T-sonicT1-12

that's too much of a hassle to type though! just like backaround23-23 is shortened to middlebak.. I don't really like the "korean sonic" though, hahaha

tokuwee15 - August 3, 2006 10:18 PM (GMT)
sonic rev T1- __

Yes basicly, just cutr the combo out of the movie and slow it down until it's slow you can see whats happening.

grsbmd - August 4, 2006 12:11 PM (GMT)
I was thinking about this last night, and this trick really uses an entirely new spin type. If you do this trick really slowly, it's based on pushing the pen so that it tips over one finger and then gravity pulls it back to its starting angle where it's caught.

I think this spin type could lead to a lot of new tricks (I'll make some videos of ones I've thought of), so the name of this trick is important, since it could affect the names of lots of other tricks.

Alucard - August 4, 2006 03:01 PM (GMT)
its easy to make with rotation to 23.
