Title: Grip Aviaire

Banz - August 16, 2006 10:35 PM (GMT)
Well, I use a personnal mod which I called "Grip Aviaire" (in french, you can read it like Avian Flu ^^) and I made a tuto... This one:

You will need:
- A grip of Slickpen (from Inoxcrom)
- A brush
- Two bodies and two tips of Flexgrip Ultra (from Papermate)
- Two grips of G2 (from Pilot)

A photo of the material you will need:

First, put the Slickpen's grip at the extrimity of the body of a Flexgrip and put the brush into the second body:

Now, assemble the bodies like this (the brush is inside):

Insert the G2's grips at the extremity to the last line:

You have a "Grip Aviaire" ^^

PS: I am sorry, my english may be horrible

Find a way to loose the grip in the middle. It's not a big problem for beginners but later on it will get in the way. Makes thumb spin and shit almost impossible.

yessir - August 16, 2006 11:34 PM (GMT)
is there a larger image of this pen?? the finish product i mean

EDIT:

never mind i got it

UnEmploymentDude - August 16, 2006 11:34 PM (GMT)
Yes, get rid of that middle grip. Come to think of it, that wont do much help, this pen is made for a beginer. The Flexgrip is a pure grip pen, too much grip.

Toast - August 16, 2006 11:50 PM (GMT)
it is called grip avaire >_> but yeah i would lose the grip haha

still pretty cool. i would find someway to connect the middle without the grip, and get profile grips at the sides. the metal tips should stick out since it loks better like that

DevilJackEX - August 17, 2006 02:44 AM (GMT)
it looks great .. but like they said ..they away the gip in the middle ...is it gonna fit in a G2 barrel??

zepiroth76 - August 17, 2006 03:05 AM (GMT)
I was thinking the same thing about the G-2 barrel DevilJackEX.

Banz - August 17, 2006 10:55 AM (GMT)
I use this pen since my first TA ^^
I have no problem to do TS or IS... And when you use it often, the grip does'nt hang anymore ^^
I love this pen, but maybe I love because I am accustomed ... ?

Change the middle grip isn't a good idea ^^ you don't sense the Slickpen's grip when you spin ^^

Alpha - August 18, 2006 08:44 PM (GMT)
I'ts a good mod and he has a funny name!!

slickhare - August 18, 2006 10:33 PM (GMT)
looks nice, but you're going to despise that middle grip in time. trust me, i used to do the same thing in my mods, but i grew out of it.

*edit* or you could grow to like it, if you haven't tried anything else?

H-J - August 19, 2006 07:39 AM (GMT)
looks bad with a grip in the middle

k.namix - August 21, 2006 10:32 AM (GMT)
I've never liked this pen... I think Banz might be the only good spinner who can spin with this weird pen... better than with the others :o

NF Alex - August 21, 2006 05:35 PM (GMT)
Looks nice, I'll try making one if I can get that Slickpen thing.

Banz - August 23, 2006 09:10 PM (GMT)
Some spinners used a HGG grip in the middle... I think it hangs too much but i am not sure (i never tried it ^^)

Yeals - September 26, 2006 06:11 PM (GMT)
I love this pen , it's the best for me and the grip of the medium does not obstruct ^^

Bathory - March 27, 2007 04:48 PM (GMT)
This mod is great and Banz manage to reach the world tournament's third round with it^^

LOLOLOL

if im not mistaken, the WORLD RECORD for thumbspins was done with a pen with the grip in the middle <_<

EDIT: I did the same type of thing only with a pencil in the middle instead of a brush.... and the white things are marker caps.... and all g2 grips.... its pretty cool :D

oshizitsrohiz - March 29, 2007 12:21 AM (GMT)

zepiroth76 - March 29, 2007 12:55 AM (GMT)
I don't think it matters. But I see the normal ones a lot more.

I'm disappointed in you.

You should try using a grip in the middle, it doesn't take long to get used to. :teach:

Depends of which Flexgrip you use. If you used the retractable, then it should be around 21.5 cm. I'm guessing you used the non-retractable, which makes it around 24 cm. :P

If you want it shorter, you can cut the back of the flexgrip and adjust it to whatever you want.

quebes - April 8, 2007 12:53 AM (GMT)
kinda off topic but i noticed that some flexigrip elites have plastic tips and some have metal. the plastic ones look like metal but its plastic. who has noticed the same thing?

Very descriptive post. I'm glad you're trying hard not to spam.

Yes, I've noticed that Flexgrips (all types) sometimes have plastic tips, and they don't spin nearly as well. :( And there's really no way to tell the difference without buying them first.
