Title: General Modification Thread (gmt)
yessir - July 3, 2006 02:23 AM (GMT)
I started this topic because I want a topic where you can visit and learn something useful that could help you in the future.
Examples...
Remove Grips-
Remove (HGG) Grips?Cutting Soft Barrels- You can use wire cutters. It can be used to produce a very fine slice which requires minimal filing. Props to DarkArcher for that.
- a hacksaw makes for a very easy cutting job.
Keep the HGG tip on the RSVP MX- wrap teflon tape around the plastic RSVP tip, then screw on the metall HGG tip. The tape will provide a surface for the metal threads to attach to.
** Teflon tape is the stuff used to insulate plumbing pipes. It may just be called "plumbing tape" where you live.
- super glue the tip
Remove colored back section of G2Remove G2 Color BandWhat is a BICssa? It's a
BICtory that has a black body and white caps. The look resembles the Korean Comssa Mod.
RSVP MX insert info1. width: 9cm
2. height: 3.81cm
3. COP is located 4cm from the "back" side (where the RSVP cap will be located).
4. only 1/2 of the insert (vertically) will be visible when the insert is rolled up.
5. only 1/4 of the insert will be visible at any time when looking straight on at the insert.
6. various insert sizes that fit inside a RSVP barrel:
- 72ppi: 255 x 108
- 150ppi: 531 x 225
- 200ppi: 709 x 300
- 300ppi: 1063 x 450
Empty G2 refillTools needed:
- Sandwich Bag
- Water
- Pliers
- Barbeque Stick (or any other stick you are willing to get dirty and dispose)
- Make sure you are outside or some place that you will let ink spill.
1. Take the tiny plug out of the back of the G2 Refill
2. Fill the sandwich bag with some water (not too much)
3. Place the G2 Refill inside the sandwich bag and hold it from outside the sandwich bag.
4. Using pliers, press, hold, and twist off the tip of the G2 refill (FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE SANDWICH BAG) and let the ink come out. (You might want to leave the area and come back in a few hours if you want to make sure all of it gets out.)
5. Run some water through the g2 refill and clear it of any ink marks.
6. Now the glue will be inside the g2 refill. Using a barbeque stick, push through the g2 refill and try to push the glue out. The glue is very sticky so avoid getting it on your skin.
7. Run some more water through the g2 refill and clear out anything left inside with the barbeque stick.
Insert RSVP grip into capTools needed:
- Any kind of oil
1. Try to dispense a very tiny bit of oil onto your index finger, if you use too much the fixture will be loose.
2. Apply the oil into the inside of one end of the rsvp grip and on the rsvp back cap.
3. Place the rsvp grip into the rsvp cap so it is level with the bottom of the rsvp cap.
4. Pretend to place a normal rsvp cap onto the rsvp back cap, except this time it will be a little harder to place so just push harder and push it as far as you want it to go.
Remove back of Better RetractableThings needed:
[1] Hold down onto the back part of the Pilot Better Retractable with pliers.
[2] Simultaneously Twist --> (substep 2a:pretend like you're twisting off a metal tip from a pen) & pull off the back part.
Insert a paper insert1. Roll the insert around the pen's ink tube.
2. Slide the insert into the pen's body.
Balance your Comssa Mod1. Pull of the eraser from the back of a pencil.
2. Put that eraser in one of the cap.
- wad up paper and shove into the cap
Remove writing from RSVP barrel- Use an eraser to rub off the writing
- left acetone sit on the body to eat away the writing. Leaving it on too long may eat away the pen body itself.
HGG replacement tip and grip- Use a Hybrid Gel Roller, it has a larger tip and differently textured grip

Question: Whats a good lenth for a pen? whats good for almost any tricks?
Question 2: Is 8.75 inches (22.5 cm) too long?
Eburt - July 14, 2006 03:21 AM (GMT)
I would say that 18-20 cm is probably good, a lot of people seem to think that 19 or 19.5cm is excelent (about the length of an MX), though of course weight and distribution can also effect how long the pen should be...
22.5cm sounds too long to me, it wouldn't really look natural, like you're actually sipinning a pen. Kam has said that a good way to tell if it will look acceptable spinning is if you put it on your palm and it is as long as or shorter than the tip of your middle finger to the end of your palm. Some people you disagree with this though and say longer pens are fine, which actually they are, I just don't think they look as good spinning, but their fine for practice IMO...
FallenSeraph - July 14, 2006 03:27 AM (GMT)
eburt is right 18-20 cm. past that its inconvienient and doesnt look good. its inconvient b/c its really hard to handle a long pen. lik hits things while spinning and cant pocket it. it doesnt look good b/c it jus looks lik ur spinning a stick.
lol if u goto GPC ull see that a bunch of the guys have long ass pens. no offense to them, but they r the newest and most liberal community. almost all of their mods r double caps and dunt look lik pens. but hey wat can i say i spin a comssa ;)
RippDrive - July 14, 2006 06:13 PM (GMT)
The longest pen I spin with is 22.5cm and the shortest is 14cm. Spin with whatever feels right to you however 14cm is a little short :P
UnEmploymentDude - July 15, 2006 01:02 AM (GMT)
Yeah, well I asked because I just did a mod with you guessed it! A G2 and RSVP. It ended up to be perfectly balanced at 19 cm. However it is a bit on the light side, whats the best way to add weight but still maintain balance?
Thanks guys.

i just found out something really useful for the people with rushon. most people might know this already but ill tell you guys anyway.
i just found out that rushon inks out much faster compared to a comssa. it inks the barrel which makes it really ugly. what you can do is use rubbing alcohol on the barrel, you can use tissue to wipe it. for the ink inside the cap you can use cue tips dipped in rubbing alcohol. just another tip for you guys B)
FallenSeraph - August 10, 2006 12:02 AM (GMT)
or u can jus take teh rushon refill out and wash it, so the pen will never leak

Toast - September 1, 2006 12:24 AM (GMT)

Retro-spectre - September 1, 2006 12:31 AM (GMT)
Well, today I bought a Signo Micro 207 and it has a really fat metal tip that doesn't look like the one in some pictures, and then yesterday I bout some Signo Gelstick .7s and they don't have metal tips.

how do you "de-ink" a rushon????
i removed the tip and out came the ink ...is it suppose to be a short ink stick???
and how do you empty the rushon barrel ink??? wash it the whole time?? sounds impractical <_<
any fast methods?

What makes a Comssa Metallic...metallic? Is it metallic tape?
xz64 - September 3, 2006 03:51 AM (GMT)
If you add metal tips to your comssa caps, it becomes metallic.
The King - September 7, 2006 06:24 AM (GMT)

U could always jus put tack or something else to block the hole in the back.
zepiroth76 - September 10, 2006 03:15 AM (GMT)
I use the back plug of a G-2 refill to replace. The back plug in a Bic pen also works. I'm sure many things could fit.
elliot - September 12, 2006 04:22 PM (GMT)
When I make MXs, the cap on the end is way too loose if I align the bottom of the cap with the line between the screw on thing.
Am I doing anything wrong, or are they always a bit wobbly.

| how to get back plugs out of the round stics which are superglued in, pissing me off. |
it pissed me off untill someone(either rippdrive or retro) said to take pliers and LIGHTY crush around the plug untill you dont hear any more cracking sounds
it stops cracking with all the superglue is crushed free

Yeah, I was the one who suggested that...
@elliot: I think the grip inside the cap may be too deformed. Take a paper clip and take the grip out. Try pushing the grip in with the back side of the pen so it creates a vacuum.

Attaching Dr.Grip Tips to Comssa caps:
Take a bit of a g2 refill (empty) and stick it on the plug thing in the cap.
stick the tip on that for stability and it should stick in there a bit
then put grips for an attachment.
works awesome.

Multiplex - October 6, 2006 01:05 AM (GMT)
I had some electrical tape (black tape) and I found out that it adds a fair amount of weight to my Bictory and nowI can do a triple TS with it. It also makes my Bictory look a lot more cooler.
darkinertia - October 16, 2006 10:48 PM (GMT)
I was wondering what pen mods can i make with hgg barrels besides the hgg^2....and where can i find the transparent comssa tut?
sketching - October 16, 2006 11:10 PM (GMT)
Transparent Comssa talk can be found here:
Hgg Comssa v.3 -How to hgg CS-, How to hgg CS, otherwise check the UPSB threads, that's where the original announcements were made.
Anyone with HGG involved mods should add them to this thread:

MMT is momentum MX (i think) its just a section of profile/starmax gel/Anyball grip on the G2 barrel part of an MX and the G2 barrel part for the MMX (for mine atleast) is about 3.5cm
