I think I forgot some tricks like indexmiddlearound, middlering around... and such.. should those be in?

fung0wd0d41 - January 7, 2006 04:53 PM (GMT)
is counter strike a real trick or did u just add that in .... -_-

AngryStudent - January 7, 2006 05:16 PM (GMT)
 That was a joke.

Bboy Banana - January 7, 2006 05:48 PM (GMT)

sorez - January 7, 2006 08:14 PM (GMT)
Sonic 2x harmonic is missing, no ?

not really important but :)

I actually do not know why they threw named combos like cardiod or harmonics in there. But w/e

And how could they miss Leigun too? What a cheap trick book.

I think I forgot some tricks like indexmiddlearound, middlering around... and such.. should those be in?

i think a better name for those is
extended indexaround
extended middlearound etc.

and yes those should be in because they are tricks

hmm...and you also forgot extended thumbaround...

which also leads to extended thumbspin, extended indexspin, etc.

How is a Fingerless Figure 8 done?

Bboy Banana - January 8, 2006 02:13 AM (GMT)
Told you it was cheap.

Yet to be known
BTW I'll ad to the book when I have time..

TayYH89 - January 8, 2006 04:10 AM (GMT)
Figure 8 could be done with just hand movements. That's how it's done.

sketching - January 8, 2006 07:05 AM (GMT)
HaHa, forgot what the definition of Fingerless meant. >_<

Eriror - January 8, 2006 09:29 AM (GMT)
But.. Extended Quad Infinity? How is that done?

Skatox - January 8, 2006 12:43 PM (GMT)
extend the 3 first steps, like in a triple extended...I don't think you really can extend the ring>pinky part...

QUOTE (Eriror @ Jan 8 2006, 09:29 AM)
But.. Extended Quad Infinity?  How is that done?

Do extra Wipers for all finger spaces, and Figure 8 at T4.

Skatox - January 9, 2006 05:46 PM (GMT)
I suggest two new "tricks" :

demon's around : zippyvideos
rapidshare

devil's around : zippyvideos
rapidshare

basically, demon's around is like demon's spin > twisted sonic, in one very smooth move.

devil's around should be like devil's spin > twisted sonic...

surely these two are short combos, but I would like to see them having their proper name

sketching - January 9, 2006 09:38 PM (GMT)
Devil's Around is already used. It is the better name for Devil's Spin since the pen goes around the Middle finger.

QUOTE (ratboy)
Devil's Spin - Also now known as Devil's Around. Done entirely palm down, start with a Twisted Sonic 23-12 but instead of passing to 12 completely, release the pen to effectively do a MiddleAround in the same motion. Rotations: 2.

The Devil's/Demon's tricks all involve doing most, but not all, of each trick. Adding a full Twisted Sonic would go against why they are tricks and not combos.

Skatox - January 10, 2006 07:21 PM (GMT)
then I don't add a full twisted sonic at each :) ...

Let me see... My "devil's around" would be like
twisted sonic 23-12 "release" > middleback reverse 12-12 ...

or

half charge 23 > pass 23-12 reverse "release" > shadow 12-23 > pass 23-12 reverse...

or

devil's spin "release" > pass reverse 23-12 > half a charge...

You can see it doesn't really do "full" tricks (except passes)
I don't add a full twisted sonic, 'cause the charge done at the beginning of a twisted sonic is not present in my tricks...

I think that as it is too hard to breakdown my two new "things", they should be tricks better than combos...If you say devil's around is already used...Shit <_< Let's find another name...Pleeeeeease, my little, my precious tricks :D

sketching - January 10, 2006 07:57 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (Skatox)
half charge 23 > pass 23-12 reverse "release" > shadow 12-23 > pass 23-12 reverse...

That's a combo of Twisted Sonic and Devil's Shadow, so maybe you can come up with a name based on that.

Skatox - January 11, 2006 02:57 PM (GMT)
Hum...twisted devil's shadow wouldn't be the right name...But I don't see anything else

Hm...Extended Devil's Shadow?

Skatox - January 11, 2006 05:35 PM (GMT)
not bad, but the extension is before the devil's shadow...if it still fits with the naming convention, I would be OK for "Extended Devil's Shadow" :)

mwahaha, I did a new trick ! I did a new trick !

cJw314 - January 12, 2006 06:34 PM (GMT)
Does anyone know of any resources online for the "Reverse Infinity"? I didn't see anything on the main sites I check for vids... perhaps a brief description?

I imagine it's done on the outside of the hand as opposed to the inside...?

Skatox - January 12, 2006 08:45 PM (GMT)
reverse infinity is just the rewind of the infinity move...What you're thinking about sounds more like INVERSE infinity for me...

But, I can't do a real reverse infinity :( ...reverse extended infinity is much more easy, I think. Or reverse figure 8...

cJw314 - January 12, 2006 09:23 PM (GMT)
From what I found in my research on the old upsb, inverse is on the outside of the hand and reverse is just a 'backwards' infinity. Reversing the motion, so far, has made my brain hurt.

sketching - January 12, 2006 10:18 PM (GMT)
Inverse just means the other side of the hand.
Inverse Charge 13 is done on the inside of the hand.

Inverse Infinity travels along the outside of the fingers during the Pass portion.

Flip - January 14, 2006 07:10 AM (GMT)
I didnt see triangle pass in there.

Is index around the same as an index spin?

QUOTE (Flip @ Jan 14 2006, 12:10 AM)

Indexaround = pen travels around Index finger
Indexspin = pen spins 0.5+ times on the Index finger

The old pentrix site calls this an index spin.

Does that have a different name now? im confused. I thought it when it spins on top off the index 0.5+ is a half tap? Do you know where any videos of this tricks are?

sketching - January 14, 2006 09:34 PM (GMT)
The old Pentrix site uses out-dated names.
If the main point of a trick has the pen traveling around a finger, it is generally called an around trick.

- If you do a Thumbaround, and transfer the pen onto the side, top, or bottom of the Index finger and let it spin for a while, you've done a version of the Index spin.
- The Basketball spin is another version of an Indexspin.
- If you do an Indexaround with a more horizontal motion, and allow the pen to spin on the Index finger for awhile before catching it, you've done another verison.

Half-tap rotates on the side of the Index finger and the Thumb.

QUOTE (sketching @ Jan 14 2006, 09:34 PM)

No.

There are actually 2 variations of IndexSpin. The zombo's way and the tohlz's way.
In zombo's way, it spins on the last phalanx of the index finger.
In tohlz's way, it spins on the (thumb) side of the index finger.
IndexSpin (tohlz) and IndexAround are done using the same method. Only that in IndexSpin, the pen spins more spins on the finger, while IndexAround only consist of 1 spin.
It's like how the TA and TS work.

killsburydohboy - January 17, 2006 09:44 PM (GMT)
A few tricks I noticed missing:

arm roll
offering
windshield wiper
gravity bak

For those who don't know these tricks I think phya invented all of them in his "Evolution" vid, except for windshield wiper which was invented by tohlz. Also there would be the inverse and reverses of all these tricks.

Skatox - January 18, 2006 04:31 PM (GMT)
:) what does windshield wiper consists of ?

romainhxc - January 18, 2006 04:47 PM (GMT)
same questtion for gravity bak?

Skatox - January 18, 2006 07:40 PM (GMT)
same question for offering :D

Interfector155 - January 18, 2006 07:45 PM (GMT)
Can't seem to find anything on windshield wiper (I'll look for a little while longer), but the gravity bak is a backaround performed with no hand movement and was invented by Phya in his Evolution video.

Link to the topic in the UPSB History section. Includes Evolution video.

As for offering, watch the vid :). It's in combo #4. I can't see the vid because it's Putfile... lol.

killsburydohboy - January 18, 2006 07:56 PM (GMT)
All the tricks except for windshield wiper are in Phya's evolution vid, the breakdown is there too, so just watch for them when you look at the video. As for windshield wiper it's on the new upsb, tohlz came up with it.

hmm...there should be stall tricks in there as well
