Title: New block system
Zombo - October 1, 2006 11:30 PM (GMT)
This new block system will allow you to block the content of posts, hide sigs, hide avatars, block PMs, or rename the nick, of the selected person. All changes are only effective for you and you only.
You can manage the block system in your Controls, editing what features are blocked, and who are being blocked.
I'm doing this so that instead of seeing people getting irritated at someone's comment and responding to them in a similar flame-ish manner, you can just put him/her on your ignore list and never worry about it.
It works fine under Mozilla and IE, but not very well under Opera. With that last browser, it indeed does block whatever you already have specified, but you cannot new members to your ignore list unless you use another browser. So it's still functional, you just need to add more people using another browser (you can still delete members off your list under Opera tho)
Note that this renders the [Hide sig] feature obsolete, since it is packaged into this mod.
EDIT: You cannot use this feature as an excuse for breaking some rule. I.E.: You didn't receive an important message because you blocked a moderator in your list, for example. That's your responsability. Of course, blocking a staff member is not very wise, and I will try to find a way to prevent this block to work on moderators in the future.

Yea this sounds shweet but it doesn't work for me. Im trying to block someone, but when I click block it just like sits there... Firefox...

really? crap I was told it worked under firefox. If all else fail, I guess you have to use IE to add new members in... but the blocking will be effective under all browsers.

After blocking a user's signature image and changing the name, UCPSB pages no longer fully load. After loading most of the page, I'll get re-directed to the following:
http://127.0.0.1/http%3A//s15.invisionfree...50576%26SEC%3D1I cannot undo the change since I can no longe fully load, and update, the Member Block page. Zombo, any help would be appreciated.
Edit: I'm in Firefox. I have to stop the page loading every time befor the re-direct in order to view any pages. None of them have the chance to fully load.
Edit #2: tried to undo the process using Internet Explorer and now UCPSB no longer load in IE. Grr. And I'm still having to Stop the page loading everytime in Firefox.

Hmm... either one of the Admins fixed my problem, or somehow the board just fixed itself.
I don't think that I'm going to use this feature until I know that won't happen again.
Edit: I still cannot load UCPB in Internet Explorer.
I type in ucpsb.co.nr, I get re-directed to the normal invision board address, then I get re-directed to the following blank page:
http://s15.invisionfree.com/UCPSB/http%3A/...50576%26SEC%3D1

wow hmm that is really weird. I'll look more into this.
@mats, dude, this thread is just to notify this new feature and make comments. Not to flame people. The whole point is to reduce FLAMING, jeez.

Yea I see your problem. I added a block, then removed it immediately and it stopped working. Clearing your cookies will solve the problem tho. I'll have to look more into and make a decision soon whether or not to keep it.
