Title: Continuous Backaround

Ratboy - October 22, 2006 02:59 PM (GMT)
I've started trying continuous baks, but I have a couple of problems.

Firstly, the second bak usually flies to the right or down my arm. Is this purely because I'm repositioning too far right of the COP?

Also, how do I keep the speed down? When I do successfully do two in a row, the second one is twice as fast as the first - so I'd never be able to actually do it continuously.

when i do cont baks, there is a slight lag between one bak and the next. not so much that it looks lik the pen is stopping. it kinda looks lik its slowing down and u have to push it again. look at some of scelus' vids to see wat im talking about
the only person off the top of my head that does cont baks lik it jus keeps on going around the hand is chucko. he pretty much mastered them, so u might want to ask him.

Mmmm... my baks don't seem to slow down that much. Should I make less of a push when making the hand horizontal?

zepiroth76 - October 22, 2006 03:34 PM (GMT)
Well, mine usually stays up to the same speed, but I can make it lag if I want ^

You kinda move your hand in a circular motion as you do this.

Thanks for the pointers.

After a bit more practice, I get the feeling that the circular motion and timing are the areas I should probably concentrate on, rather than repeating the normal Bak action.

the Bak naturally makes the pen reposition itself further down the finger.... how do you get it to end in the same spot it started??

RandomNewb - January 1, 2007 07:41 PM (GMT)
practice so that when it is starting to stop you can do another one

it just takes alot of practice to get it to spin and stop where you want it.. your hands will become accustomed in time, keep trying it

its not so much your hand going in a circle. its more of your index finger. since the pen wants to slide further up, you move your finger in a little circle to get back to the original position

im not sure if im doing it right.. i can get it to the same starting position but i sort of make it slip to do so.. as in i purposely make it slip/slide to reposition.. is this right? and its still not continuous there is a distinct lag between every cont bak.. do i jus haf to keep practicing or is my cont bak wrong technically?

my first cry for help

Surge - February 13, 2007 03:32 PM (GMT)
No, that is not right. The pen should be caught in the right place for another bak with no sliding or anything of the sort. You should master the bak before starting practice on the continuous.

DaThroat - February 14, 2007 12:12 PM (GMT)
nono.. as in i can do normal bak alrdy.. even bakfall though not smooth  but im can make it slide if i want to.. thats not correct? then u reposition wif the help of the thumb or wat? thxs

You reposition with a hand motion, it's quite hard. I can't do more than 3 continous baks. As Surge said you have to learn to catch the pen in the position prefectly for another backaround. I think the best would be that you figure out yourself. It's really one of those trick that you have to figure yourself.

I found out recently that using the same technique described in that thread, you can achieve Continuous Bak. This method is very much similar to how ps-728 does his.
