Title: Isonic (bonkura Style)

kavondak - November 3, 2006 11:16 PM (GMT)
i have no idea how this is even physically possible >_<

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPwDrewkCIU...related&search=

in that video, about 1 min 40 secs in, he does an invisible sonic and then spreads his fingers! ?!?!?!is that wierd, no?

Leviathan - November 3, 2006 11:20 PM (GMT)
What? You've never seen people do this before? bonkura does them all the time.

Elky - November 3, 2006 11:41 PM (GMT)
How could you? It looks awesome, but it looks impossible too, lol

Edit: And I think it was Bonkura that did it, his name's in the credits, and I saw his Ballsign mod xD.

Elky - November 3, 2006 11:51 PM (GMT)
Wait I know how he did it. He had his hand so close to the table that he could pin it to the table on its ends between his finger and the table, and then he just grabbed it with his index and ring fingers.

Elky - November 4, 2006 12:56 AM (GMT)
Yeah I saw the Jeb+FPSB, lol. Dunno how he did it there, unless he did it against the wall.

tokuwee15 - November 8, 2006 05:21 AM (GMT)
He won't tell you. It's a secret. You need to find out by yourself :P

EDIT: It's not fair to Bonkura if it is told to everyone. He invented it, and he alone has the right to tell how...

I don't completely agree with this. In my opinion, the best way for pen spinning to progress is through the sharing and exchanging of ideas. I think you're concerned about someone taking credit for the trick, but I don't think anyone here would do that.

tohxinzhan29 - November 8, 2006 12:31 PM (GMT)
Man, it looked cool. I thought he hid it up his sleeve or something( too bad he was not wearing sleeves)

Bonkura's i-Sonic is a magic trick.. According to Niffe-

QUOTE (Niffe)
a magician is not allowed to share
secrets with others.

Magic tricks are often protected by patent.
This means that if you buy descriptions
to a trick, you are the only one who is allowed to learn it.

This doesn't apply to easier fundamental tricks and stuff.

It can be really hard to guess what a magician is doing.
I don't think I would be able to copy a trick from a video
without any previous knowledge of magic.

Thus, I think it's a big difference between giving
out a video and giving out descriptions.

adam25 - November 9, 2006 12:29 AM (GMT)
QUOTE
In most cases, IP law does not protect the rights of magic methods, although many magicians behave as if it does. Most tricks are built on sleight of hand and psychology, not scientific principles, and are not patentable.

QUOTE
The description of how a magic trick is performed may constitute a work of art that can be protected by way of copyright. However, exposing or revealing an explanation for how a magic trick is performed generally does not constitute an act of copyright infringement.

But, whatever. I was just sharing my opinion; it was not my intention to spark a debate.

Donk3y - November 10, 2006 07:37 AM (GMT)
im pretty sure its actually the camera angle, if u notice where its at u can see how its a ceiling rather than a background, so he just sets the pen on his finger and lets it balance on there...

kavondak - November 10, 2006 12:42 PM (GMT)
wow no wonder..that makes sense, but would still be tricky. no wonder his hand is kinda shaky.

waht happened to not tellin? lol but im grateful

LOL REVIVING OLD THREADS

1. Ceiling Idea

It is not ceiling... If you watched the original video, he places pen down and it does not roll away or fall down... WTF are people thinking

2. No he's not sticking pen down on table with his hand

3. HAND/ARM STRENGTH

He does I-Sonic and bends his hand backwards so that the pen is between his middle finger and his arm forming a sort of 45 degree angle, then he spreads fingers, afterwards he continues

4. No tape, no sleeves, no hiding, no video editing

JEB JEB JEB

no.

listen, tard. look at the jeb+fpsb collab again. and again. and again. does bonkura's hands EVER look like its bent to a 45 degree angle?

no, its not the ceiling idea. no, there was no table for bonkura's version. but it is certainly not hand/arm strength.

kasra12321 - November 24, 2006 05:27 PM (GMT)
mabye there s double sided tape on his palm.

ed sect mobile - December 4, 2006 06:35 AM (GMT)
Lol.
Thank you for that idea.
Hahahahaha.
That was just genious.

Cybrax2 - December 5, 2006 12:15 AM (GMT)
Maybe he bent his finger back so both end of the pen goes into the skin. I dunno

Does anyone know the 2nd guy's pen or is it a comssa? I would like to know the profile grip combo, if there is.

LegendOfFireHands - December 5, 2006 02:48 AM (GMT)
I'm certainly not saying that this is how he did it, but a common magician's trick is to use dobs of wax to stick things to the backs of their hands. I suppose it's worth a shot with a pen.

no.

i was trying to keep this in for the longest time but i guess you guys figured out. its sticky device. towards the end of 3:29, theres an exceptionally big white object jutting out of the top of his wrist. now that could be a the bone there, but its awfully big and white. just a guess, but as of now, tape is the most economical and convenient way of doing this.

otherwise, he'd have a pretty sci-fi apparatus for this to be possible.

strat1227 - December 8, 2006 08:41 PM (GMT)
ok guys its not that hard..... heres a link to a vid that explains it......:

ps sorry it goes upside down:)

hes talking about the video in this thread. not the japen fpsb collab.

EDIT-

pentrixter your wrong

Thats his bone...Bonkura's bone is just that big, and his lighting makes the bone appear white. I know how he does it. Donk3y was right, it is a angle trick. If you watch,
he does no shadows, no arounds, only passes and charges/sonics-things that dont require gravitational assistance in tricks.
And, why would his lower hand appear darker than his upper hand?

meh, just a guess.
and... how would u know how he does it? that's what they all say.

O RLY? randomnewb was talking about the video in this thread? does it make a difference tho? he's still wrong.

edit: if your little clue about the no-gravity dependent tricks is correct, then he must have had a hell of time filming it. feel sorry for his arms.
