Title: Shadow Reverse
Ivan the Terrible - April 22, 2006 02:43 PM (GMT)
Can someone finnaly clear me all this stuff about reverse shadows, shadows and sonic 1.5s and reverse sonics 1.5. Because lately i dont understand anything anymore especially reverse shadows and sonics 1.5. I think here is also that misconception about reverses. So can anyone like write each trick and tell me in what way they spin (cw, ccw) and if they go up or down the hand.
Thanks

Shadow = Charge, Down the hand
Shadow Rev = Charge Rev, Up the hand
Sonic 1.5 = Charge, Up the hand
Rev Sonic 1.5 = Charge Rev, Down the hand

...xz64 got it more right^^
Eriror - April 22, 2006 02:48 PM (GMT)
xz64 is right, Shadow Reverse does exist. It's up the hand, like: Reverse Shadow 34-12.
EDIT: Thanks, Robert, you blew up my post. <_<

But isn't that the same as Ba/neoBak?
Only thing that is differnt is how you get the push...
xz64 - April 22, 2006 02:51 PM (GMT)
There's still something different
Eriror - April 22, 2006 02:53 PM (GMT)
NeoBak goes down the hand, so it's like a FingerLess Reverse Sonic. :P
Rev. Shadow could be something.. Read: SOMETHING, like a BackAround 34-23/34-12/23-12.
xz64 - April 22, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
I don't think it matters where neobaks go...

NeoBaks can land anywhere on the hand. I dont think they matter.
Nice shadow/sonic 1.5 description. Perfect.

i'm trying to learn how to do a reverse shadow but i don't get when u have to release the pen.
any tips ? please help
THANKS in advance

think of it this way. neobak is a fingerless rev shadow
so if ur hand is palm down, when u release it, ur index should be higher than ur middle and the pen shold be parallel to ur fingers when u release.

Do a Sonic Reverse, palm down.
Now, remember back to how you learned Shadow Normal. You have do a similar motion with your fingers, but wait a little longer before letting go of the pen. To begin with, just try to hold on long enough to get the pen up and onto the back of the fingers, then work at trying to control where the pen lands on the back of the fingers so that you can catch it.

| But a korean neobak, would be started using hand motion to get it spinning, while a reverse shadow would use finger motion. |
Well, usually when I want to learn a new trick, I try to do it first with hand motion, and gradually move from that to finger push/pull/whatever.
I discovered that it's easier for me to understand how the trick works, when I learn it like that.
Besides, I think that a shadow, or most tricks for that matter, done with a hand motion, is as valid as the trick done with finger movment. just unnecessary most of the time, like in sonics.

Hey ppl!
I'm trying to learn reverse shadow.Could anyone give me tips, and post a vid if possible?
Here's my biggest problem:I can't get palmdown reverse charge. The motion feels very weird

Wouldn't reverse shadow be like a backaround caught between 23. Or is the difference that you don't use the motion of your hand to get it over there?
Or is there no difference at all?
kensai - November 11, 2006 09:29 AM (GMT)
You only use your fingers. Btw, I think you're talking about rev shad 12-23; I strongly recommend practising rev shad still first.

I always thought shadow reverse 12-12 is just like neobak 12-12. I still think this^^
ed sect mobile - November 11, 2006 09:30 AM (GMT)
alright thank you for the tip. but isn't rev shadow still like neoback 12-12?

no, it's finger movement not hand motion, well maybe a little but not as much as neobak. It's like it just without the hand motion
FallenSeraph - November 12, 2006 02:30 AM (GMT)
yea theres a really fine line between rev shadow and neobak. essentially rev shadow is the finger version adn neobak is the FL version.
they look essentially the same unless u do certain linkages. u jus have the experiment around with it.

Shadow Reverse spins 1.5 or more rotations using a Sonic push. That involves rotating the pen using the fingers with about 1/2 a Charge motion, but letting go of the pen to spin freely for a time. The catch is using the fingers to perform another ~1/2 Charge rotation just like a Sonic catch.
NeoBackaround can be thought of as a specific-looking Fingerless Shadow Reverse that either stays in a slot or travels down the hand, not traveling around any fingers.
Backarounds go around a finger and partly over the back of the hand. Shadows do not go around arnything.
----
- Shadow Reverse uses the fingers to perform the trick, usually with the middle of tips of the fingers.
- Shadows Reverse are usually done palm-down.
- Neobackaround is done using hand movement, pushed and catch at (or near) the base of the fingers.
- Neobaks usually involve the hand rotating from palm-sideways to palm-down to palm-sideways throughout the trick.
Backarounds are nothing like Shadows Reverse.

what is it if i do a reverse sonic 12-23 except it falls to 12-t1? i guess something like a backaround without the hand-push? is there a name for it?
like this?
sketching - November 17, 2006 03:44 PM (GMT)
That should be a Shadow Reverse 12-T1
