Description: By [RMX] Donk3y

***Upon Requests***
Materials Needed:
1 RSVP- Grip, Cap, Body, ink
1 G2 - Refill
1 Grip of choice - Rose Art Mechanical Pencil
1 Tip of choice - HGG
1 Spring
Tack - metal piece
Sanding item
Saw
1. Take the grip off your RSVP and put it in the back cap, then break off the clip like an MX exactly.
2. Empty the G2 refill into a SINK or GARBAGE. Cut to 5 cm.
3. Break the metal part off of your tack, or use whatever metal piece and stick through the G2 refill about half way down the tube, try to get a little bit off from center of the tube.
4. Cut the entire front part of your RSVP off, where the grip stops at up to the tip.
5. Sand that hole big enough for the G2 refill to fit in TIGHTLY.
6. Attach you tip to the end of the tube.
7. Take the spring and wedge it into the back cap of the RSVP.
8. Take you ink tube and crimp the back of it so that the sping puts A LOT of pressure on it.
9. Put some tape around the metal part on the G2 refill so you don't get hurt.
10. Place a grip over top of the entire mechanism and tube.
11. Put the cap back on with the ink tube in it and make sure it goes on the BIGGER half of the metal piece.
12. Place you cap with grip and broken clip back on as normal.
*** Squeeze as if you would be holding the metal part on both of its' ends. ***
If enough pressure is on the sping it should open the hole up a little bit more so the pen comes through and is stopped by the tip.
To bring the pen back in just simply push down on the ink so it goes back up and is snug in the G2 refill and metal part like it started.

Awesome. I've been patiently waiting for this tut since you posted about this pen like a month or so ago. I'll definitely make this when I get home later. The instructions seem kind of vague, but I should be able to figure it out lol.
I do have one question, however. Does an HGG grip fit well with this mod? As in literally fitting onto the front part easily enough and also being able to easily use the retracting mechanism (don't know if the HGG grip would be too stiff, etc.).
darkinertia - November 13, 2006 11:32 PM (GMT)
damnmit donk3y you cant say my opti-comssa tutorial is confusing anymore haha
i told you people would like to see your mods...and now that bojos not around no one will make fun of it!

I love you man!!! and you forget that you can empty a G2 ink tube by sucking on it until it is empty!
fbnonenzo - November 14, 2006 12:21 AM (GMT)
thx donk3y for postin this
and guys no flaming!!11
Trogz - November 14, 2006 01:59 AM (GMT)
what do you mean by tack?? a sewing pin, a thumbtack....?????
tohxinzhan29 - November 14, 2006 02:50 AM (GMT)
Gee, I've got to thank you for this. I've been dying to make a mod.
The King - November 14, 2006 03:02 AM (GMT)
Awesome! final pic and what is the metal part?
Donk3y - November 14, 2006 03:10 AM (GMT)
The metal part is the part that u stick into the wall...
and yes any tack will work, like thumbtack. just break off the metal part and you may have to trim it down a bit to fit in well...
i'll make a 2nd one tonight so i can take pics of the steps in the process. ok.
PICS COMING SOON!!!!!!!
Trogz - November 14, 2006 03:21 AM (GMT)
yay! how far does the refill go into the rsvp?
CPC - November 14, 2006 05:26 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the tutorial.
This pen is awesome. It's a quiet retractable pen that works very well.
Very good idea.
Trogz - November 15, 2006 02:04 PM (GMT)
Woot!!! I fanally got it to work. I tweaked it for like 3 hours, but it works!!!!!!!!!!!!! :vhappy: :vhappy: :bananalama: :bananalama: :bananalama:
i probably used at least a meter of tape though...
darkinertia - November 15, 2006 05:37 PM (GMT)

DarkArcher - November 20, 2006 01:53 AM (GMT)

Donk3y - November 20, 2006 05:10 AM (GMT)
haha, im a hardcore procrastinator...
i would be more inclined to make another one, if the rsvp tube didn't take so damn long to sand big enough.
the mechanism is pretty easy though.
Trogz - November 20, 2006 05:18 AM (GMT)
enjoy the pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
tohxinzhan29 - November 20, 2006 05:49 AM (GMT)

... whats that supposed to mean? i work really hard on those, it took me like 10 min
xshadowfire - November 20, 2006 08:06 AM (GMT)
i still don't get it.
maybe i'd understand better if i actually had a g2 to work with =X
Donk3y - November 20, 2006 09:44 AM (GMT)
those pics are pretty damn accurate dude, thanks a lot.
Trogz - November 20, 2006 05:15 PM (GMT)
no problem, if you dont understand, the tack goes THROUGH the g2 refill, but when you push it through, you want one side of the tube to be bigger than the other, like when i drew the circle.
Eso - November 20, 2006 06:20 PM (GMT)
So basically, the mechanism is that you squeeze the plastic G2 tube, NOT the thumbtack ends, so that it widens enough for the RSVP inktube to spring out... is that right?
And once you push the ink back in, the G2 tube is back in its original shape so it doesn't accidentily spring back again, right?
If so, that would mean you'd need to tweak the placement of the thumbtack. >_<; Or maybe not?
Trogz - November 20, 2006 06:30 PM (GMT)
yes that is exactly right Eso, but you do want to squeze the end of the thumbtack because you want the tube to bend as close as possible to he tack
spin~TAP - November 20, 2006 10:35 PM (GMT)
Wow..... never seen someone use paint for pics.... interesting.... LOL, anyways, ty
kavondak - November 20, 2006 11:17 PM (GMT)
whoah now i think i get it! thats ingenious!
and donk3y thought hed get flamed xD
1 question though. can we get an exact measurement of where to put the tack, and the spring on back, or does it matter? as long as they correspond right?
Trogz - November 21, 2006 12:16 AM (GMT)
it doesnt matter where the tack goes, but the crimp for the spring worked out to be 1 cm in from the back of the tube
Sathon - November 21, 2006 03:35 AM (GMT)
please excuse my english
but what is a tack?
can i use staples instead?

lol dood, just like all ur problems in life, the simplest, and least time consuming method of solving it is by using GOOGLE!!!
Heres the url.
TackEDIT : No, i doubt a staple world work because the metal part of a tack is harder, and wont bend. where as a staple would be easily bent.

YAY!
Eburt - November 21, 2006 05:22 AM (GMT)
I just finished mine, took about an hour, and I was taking pictures... I'll post them tomorrow, though I don't think they'll help much more than Trogz's honestly...
I'll also write a better review than this, but I must say this is by far the best retractable MX I had ever seen, weight is almsot exactly the same and the mechanism is very solid, strong, and effective... its also not that hard to make, but that sanding is a bit of a pain...
Donk3y - November 21, 2006 07:08 AM (GMT)
thanks for the possitive imput guys, and yeah, thats really my only motivation to NOT make another one, is just sanding that barrel.
