Einar - March 2, 2006 02:56 PM (GMT)
Hi.

I was at the book stor a few days ago and i saw a stabilo pen named STABILO point 88. Its a hexagonal plastic pen with a hexagonal cap on it. Its pretty light but with a rsvp grip on evry side it is kinda good ^^

I've seen those before, never thought about spinning them though. I don't really like them that much, they look like pencils.

ok. i think they are ok to spin with (with rsvp grips on each side). maby a little to light.

I'll send a pic of how i modded it once i get a cam or something :P

I have tried that. Too thin. When double capped, too unbalanced. A little short too. It's rather light too.
However, if you really want to be skilled, try spinning with an unmodded one.

Hmm are you sure it'sthe same pen? because the one i hae is good balanced and as long as a RSVP MX.

But i can agree on the thin part :P

Maybe if you doublesided it it would be OK

I have it doublesided witch RSVP grips on each side. And i think it's pretty good ^^

They are way too light. I've spun with them. <_< Maybe extend them with Com-SSA caps, and put grips on them. Voila, another Com-SSA look-a-like. :P

When double capped, the pen is a little too long. But without double capping, it's a little short.
As for putting RSVP grip, that may help, but I'm already very sick of these type of mods.

Yea, I second that, a pen, two caps, 2 grips... gets a little boring. I suggest we get back to the originals... If you like very light mods with a hexagonal body, get the modded F3000. If you prefer one that is not so light, get the ComSsa. Something heavier would be the MX.

ok. yeah im waiting to get a comssa right now. and i already have a MX ^^.

Too boring, in fact.

hehe
so now retractable mods are "in" in the penspinning world
am i right?

I *have* heard that that pen (when double capped) is basically a F3000 replacement. The only real difference is that it's made out of plastic while the F3000 is made out of wood. I wonder if you can double tip it too?

My sister has one but only one so there's not much I can do with it (and I think you can only buy them in Europe).

Well, a mod does not have to be retractable to be interesting although most retractable mods are. The problem is, most of these mods are not easy to make and give multiple problems (at the moment).
