Title: buddyBic
Description: brought to you by BuddySpin
masterskittle - November 24, 2006 11:41 PM (GMT)
Dear UCPSB Members,The buddyBic is very simple and very cheap, .. Doesn't require cutting nor sanding and is an overall, .. well balanced pen with great momentum. It's not just a normal bic mod, it is slightly end-heavy but only to an extent. I think the weight is well distributed throughout the mod.
Why should you make this mod?! -Because if you have ever made a bictory, you probably have a leftover bic barrel and 2 leftover bic endcaps.
-Bics are very cheap and if used in a nice mod, the saving of money would come to your advantage.
-The grips at the end of the bic makes this mod good for infinitys, etc.
-It has perfect balance, and is slightly end-heavy, .. But not by much.
-Because you love me and I love you back ;]]
What do I need to make this mod?! 1. 1 bic roundstic barrel
2. 2 bic roundstic endcaps
[[ the tiny cap that is on the back of the barrel (NOT THE CAP!) ]] 3. 2 HGG grips
[[ color of your preference ]] 4. 2 Signo tips
Substitues should be self explainatoryOMG, I GOT THE MATERIALS... HOW DO I MAKE IT?! 1. Take your bic roundstic barrel, .. And insert an endcap into each side of the barrel.
2. Insert a HGG grip over each side of the barrel, .. Push the grip over, So only 1cm of the grip is over the barrel.
3. Insert a Signo tip into each side of the grip, .. Push the tip in, Until the 'flat surface' of the Signo tip is firmly stuck into the grip, and will not fall out.
4. Enjoy your perfectly balanced buddyBic!
Specifications: -
Length: Approx. 19.2cm / slightly shorter than comssa metally
-
Retractable/Writable: No
-
Balance: COG is on COP ;] Perfect.

It's ok I guess, but the only problem I have with it is that the grip isn't fully on the barrel and that the tip is being held by the grip. It just seems odd.

i did the grip thing in one of my mods using a jimnie grip instead.
it seems really short...

Brand new HGG grips are rather stiff and in this mod, .. Act as a barrel. And it does not loosen because the grip is so tight around the bic barrel and signo tip. Btw, You have to actually use a little pressure to squeeze the hgg grip in.

Did you push the grip all the way over the bic barrel? Unlike this mod? There is much room between both hgg grips and the overall size is nearly the same to the comssa metallic which is an average size pen.

when i used this grip and signo tecnique, it was pushed onto a bic cap, which worked great.

Thats probably why it was short =d The grip was pushed all the way on, making more of the barrel, .. less visible. If you pull the grips out a bit, It would be longer. On my mod, only 1cm was on the bic, but it fits tight, and I am fine with that. So, I guess if you push it more on, .. This mod could be considered 'Lengthable'? Lol.

hey.. it is like my BicGripVortex mod i posted....
Trogz - November 25, 2006 03:19 PM (GMT)
ok now i understand, but isnt there a small hollow spot between the body and tip?
zepiroth76 - November 25, 2006 04:29 PM (GMT)
More than a "small" hollow spot. As he mentioned, only 1 cm of the grip is over the barrel which leaves like 2 cm or so left.

As I mentioned, The grip fits tight. And the grip itself, is rather stiff and acts as a barrel, you cant even tell its hollow when your spinning it. Give it a try, You'll like it. :]]

JetPens.com.
zepiroth76 - November 25, 2006 05:39 PM (GMT)
haha so expensive off of jetpens though.
Hmm, alright, I'll give it a shot once I get more signos...
spin~TAP - November 25, 2006 05:45 PM (GMT)
It doesn't write. I think that is the main advantage of bictory's is that it can spin and writes on both sides. I dunno. Also, it's probably very light and unlike the bictory, isn't cap heavy which I prefer. But all of this is IMO so w/e.
Maniok - November 25, 2006 06:58 PM (GMT)
I think its ugly and a waste of hggs, sorry.
The King - November 25, 2006 08:47 PM (GMT)
