What makes it so specail that people want them so much!?

Nothing special. Only made popular after nhk used it. Same goes for the pens neXus mentioned. You don't see many people using it anyway. They are meant for collecting. Don't waste your time if you ar'nt used to light pens.

I personally want for for collection purposes and I like the idea of a pen having a wooden barrel.

I think that once you become used to it, it is really a very excellent pen to spin. I would reccomend getting one or a few. At first you may not like it, but if you stick with it for a day or two you have a new favorite. :]

Yeah when I first got my Zebras I didn't really like them for spinning because they were a lot lighter than I expected. You learn to get used to them though, and I use them because I generally do different kinds of tricks with them than when I spin with say, a MX.
