I always do finger manipulations before I started practicing ps!, It helps me to improve my ps skills!!

On topic, finger manipulation is good for stretching and warming up for other things but I don't really find it has the 'impress people' factor that pen spinning does.

yeah, your not gonna start doing that in class. people will think your crazy or insane.

you can make somewhat of an impression if you challenge them to do it too.

I would usually just tell them to try and bend the index finger and the ring finger while the pinky and middle finger remain straight, and then I would tell them to switch, and switch again.. and again and again :)
No one can do it without practice so after they fail I can show them how I can do it easily and pretty fast.
