I decided to get into Zippo tricks recently. Anybody else into this type of manipulation?

It seems pretty weird. I still think Pen Spinning looks cooler.

Zippos are small and stubby and hard to do tricks with but i can do some :)

I just learned some tricks earlier. It seems pretty fun. Only I won't be able to do it as often as PS.

It would have been a lot more "proper" if you just stated that they needed to add a point to their post rather than being a dick and creating a post in near same-tier quality as the person you snapped at.

We are here to be a constructive community that is dedicated to hand art manipulation, specifically pen spinning. It's not a community for hostility or unkind nature.

Going back on topic though:

I originally posted this thread in the first UCPSB. I recently just bought a new zippo because my old zippo broke at the hinge because of an irregular squeeze trick. It's a neat art to pick up and especially popular with the ladies, especially ones that smoke. Props to anybody that takes up the art because of this thread.

Well actually I should kinda give you creds for my getting into zippo manipulations. I got really interested in it after you posted about it :)

Well, I haven't been into either for too long, my specialty is Balisong Manipulations. However, in the short time I've been doing lighter manip's and PS, I found that lighter tricks are easier, at least for me. Damn TA... I can't even get a TA down. :angry:

Well I got 1 question:If u play lighter manip. do u need to play with the fluid inside?

Well, you would need it to have fire, the most important part, but I guess you can practice without.

I always keep mine filled, it's more impressive that way. That's what I like about lighters over balisong, though... You don't always have to flick the lighter on, and add that extra bit of danger to it if you don't want to. With a balisong, the razor-sharp edge is always there, so you always have to be careful. :grin:

Well,this may be a stupid question,but,have any ppl accidentally killed themselves while doing balisong?I mean,the razor could just slit your wrist.

Hey now, I'm american! Be nice. :grin: But yeah, I'm pretty sure you could do it. After all, I've hit my wrist a few times with my training blade while flipping the thing around like I usually do. Kinda scares me to think what would have happened if I had been using my sharp blade. And I wanted to see the site too, Mats... I heard a lot about it, and I really wanna see it now.

It was awsome, they had an arhive of 700 vids. I still have their promo video or something like that if you wann see it I'll upload it somewhere.

I dont like the idea of saying that one manipulation is easier or harder than another. You can spend an endless amount of time on any manipulation so to rank them in difficulty is just silly. Please dont say that a manipulation is easy until you are better at it than anyone else. and unemployment...lol...every pyro knows that fire isn't really that hot...but yea that chimney will get you.

Due to late night browsing, I have discovered that lightertricks.com is back up!

Now I will go look for my lighter.

I can do a few tricks but i dont like Zippo tricks very much because you cant do it as often as penspinning without getting troubles with my teacher.

zippo tricks arent all that easy for beginner tricks they are like the squeezes, flicks and all but when you check the more advance tricks such as aerials and combos its gets pretty hard and dangerous lol i cut the skin between my thumb and index trying to learn some trick that involves a reverse squeeze and light off the inside skin haha but i find it pretty useless cuz i dont smoke but its fun to play with just not as convienient as a pen
