this pen is a mod i made that looks pretty bad-ass
THIS MOD ISNT DESIGNED BY ME, IT WAS DESIGNED BY TROTTSDUDE

things you will need
rsvp pen, NO HOLES DRILLED ANYWHERE
tin foil
tape (duct tape is the best, packing tape works as well)

assembly

1. cut out a sheet of tin foil
3. take the ink out of the pen
2. cut small pieces of tin foil untill you get a piece small enough to shove into the writing tip
3. tape around the sides and top of the tip to make the foil stay in it
4. put anther piece of tin foil over the 1st layer and tape it
5. repeat step 4
6. add water (food coloring optional) into the pen from the back of the rsvp
7. tightly screw the cap back onto the top so there are no leaks.

B ) Old concept, but always fun... I would suggest sealing with something better than tin foil and also sealing the back cap securely.
C ) I hate Quicktime Player, though not relevent to the pen... oh, and Filefront too!

so... its pretty much an rsvp with water inside and plugged up front?

isnt that almost the only way to do it?

The oil and water MX was Nate's idea, Nate was the person who helped Kam invent the MX, he suggested putting the grip into the cap and so making a really good mod. He also was helping with the irisgito that was never finished.

Food Color, not sure about right name, mix it with the oil or water.

The colored part is the water. The oil is the clear part. It's an awesome Idea, and I would try it, but I cannot find clear oil... I wonder if mineral oil will work.

actually, you really dont need oil. if you seal it tight enough and not fill it all the wait (about half an inch from being full) you can create an air bubble inside the pen. :teach:

If you want color but not use food coloring, or you want the airbubble to also be colored, you could use like, a razzle dazzle or something, the pen it self is colored rather than the water.

Also, wouldn't it be better to use teflon tape (aka Plumbing Tape) to seal the back plug. I mean, thats what that tape is meant for, sealing threads to prevent water from getting out.

use vegetable or olive oil

The pen is made by putting clear oil in, maybe 3/4 of the barrel and then filling the rest up with dyed water (use food coloring). Any oil will work, however it has to be heavier than water (higher density) so that the water rises to the top when you tilt the pen. Also it must be oil based so that it doesn't mix with the water, or you'll have a pen with some wierd looking liquid in it...

H-J it's not that heavy imo just like normal mx...

and ivan, Irisgito is finished....it's just ugly...IMO

for the mod im just not sure that...if you drop for lots of time or spin with it a lot would the oil....uhh....LEAK?
or would it has awesome effect if the rsvp ink blows up and the colors are all mixed?

imho the common available oils have a lower density than water, thats why they are floating on it. :teach: and taking something like heavy fuel oil (not sure if its heavier than water) into your pen may not give the desired effect. :huh:

I dont like this mod so far. It looks like spinning this oil/water fluid gives kind of an emulsion, where the oil is barely visible instead of making big bubbles... :unsure:

but it would be great if all the problems could be solved. especially the leakage thing. I would also like to see the water phase colored different from the oil phase!! :grin:

To stop the leaking, jsut get sone F26 or some other kinda sealant. Any kind of bathroom-designed sealant should work. And for that, you might want to put some of the sealant on the end with the tip also so that the liquid doesnt come out of it either...

random coloring idea, put RSVP ink with rubbing alcohol, you get this purplish color.

I found this out by trying to empty out my rsvp ink tube, and rubbing alcohol was a random idea of something i felt like filling the rsvp with. it doesn't look too bad.
