quebes - January 23, 2007 04:06 AM (GMT)
ya so a couple days ago i dug deep into my pencil case and found a non spinning pen the bic atlantis and i thought i should use he weird clicker thingy for something so i came up with my first mod heres a brief guide
parts:
bic atlantis (clicker part)
rsvp (whole pen except grip)
HGG ( grip and tip)
weird transparent bic pen i ono wut its called
1. take ur RSVP saw off the front part so that the RSVP ink tube can fit through
2. screw on the HGG tip to the from of the cut RSVP and put the grip on
3. ake ur bic atlantis clicker and open it up until you get a longer part and a small ring
4. remove the backcap of the rsvp
5. take some sand paper and sand down the inside until around half of the small ring from the Bic atlantis can fit.
6. take the ink tube and pinch it with pliers where the srping is gonna be (u kno wut im talking bout)
7. cut the inktube to the right length.
8. put the spring and the ink tube inside and pen.
9. put some masing tape on the end of the bic atlantis clicker
10 t=saw the smaller end of the bic pen and place it on the bic atlantis clicker thingy
11. glue the small ring of the bic atlantis clicker to the sanded part of the back of the RSVP
12. let it dry
13. put the RSVP cap over the bic pen and oush it in harder so it stays.
thaz bout it i think...
btw this si like the HG3R its the twist its not a clicker on yet...
and heres some pics

Looks like a nice pen mod :)
Could you be a little more specific on step 3? How do you take that piece apart?

Sounds pretty good.
Looks good as well

Looks pretty good. There are a couple of things I see wrong with this. The tutorial is too vague. The more detail added the more people will understand, and the more professional the product the end reader will create.
Also I am assuming that you need to take off the RSVP cap to click the pen? That is fine but it does get rather annoying. As you say the clicker portion is weak, which means under constant use you would have to constantly repair the pen.
Don't get me wrong, I am not flaming you, just exposing some of the weak points in the pen. Any of us who have made great mods have gone through this process. Take your Idea and refine it. If you can work on these weak points then this pen will be excellent! Otherwise, GREAT IDEA AND PEN!

this is a great idea.
nice job on it
one thing i have to point out is that this mod uses GLUE.
we all hate glue. dont use it. please.
(in case you didn't know, glue takes all the moisture out of the plastic in the pen, causing the pen to become very brittle and easily broken. i'm sure many of us cherish the remains of thier first MX, after the tip has broken off.)
please don't take this as flame. i don't mean it in that way.
also, please correct me if i'm wrong and the glue does not do anything to the pen's durablilty.
InhumanElmo - January 24, 2007 10:15 PM (GMT)
Only Super Glue takes enough moisture away from the pen to cause it to become brittle. But yes, Do not use glue as it is messy and not a stable thing to use.
Yes I do remember my first MX. I tried to get the plastic off of it, but it just wouldn't come out. :(

oh yeah, i forgot something about the glue.
it also comes off since RSVP barrels are too smooth/the wrong material for any hopes of the glue creating a good stable bond.

i kno about how the suoer glue is bad any everything but this is my first mod and im gonna change it if i have the time :D
