Title: 6 Hr Ban
firebird - January 24, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)
Stupid polls occur when people make multi-choice polls when they should actually be single choice.

Should increase with each offence. Making the multi-choice polls now, with the little warning message Zombo was talking about, is complete and utter stupidity. It pretty much says "Are you sure you want to be a moron?" There's absolutely no excuse for clicking yes (unless, of course, it's a situation where multi-choice is the appropriate type, but there's not many situations that it would be). So give'em 6 hours to sit and think about how stupid they are, for the first offence, at least.
Second offence should be permanent ban. Ok, maybe more like a 24-hour ban, but, c'mon. WhyTF would you make the same mistake twice, even after a second warning message???
LOL, I apologize for being a jackass, but there really is no excuse for stupidity.

this punishment needs to have at least one warning before it goes into affect.
wouldn't a noob be driven away from the forum if they unknowingly make a multi-choice poll and suddenly they're banned? if that happened to me, i would definitly be afraid of this forum.

IMO, a 6 hour ban is kinda light for any offense, even one as minor as a stupid poll. It should at least be a couple days, since a couple hours doesn't really mean too much.

oh snap, better watch my polls
i think tht it should increase because there really is no excuse for being stupid and ignoring a warning/ban

Doesn't matter in the spammer's bin, right?

no it does. what's the point of making a multiple choice poll that's supposed to be single choice, even if off-topic?

Well, the warning is the window that pops up that Zombo posted about so... if someone ignores that and posts the multi-choice poll anyway, then yeah, there needs to be punishment.

I've committed this mistake a couple of times lol...not because I was 'stupid', but because by habit I used the multi-poll option. That's why I chose the last option - makes people remember if you increase the ban each time. Also, it solves the problem of determining what is 'too heavy' or 'too light'.

No rules apply in the spammer's bin.
I voted for Too light a little while ago, but after reading kensai's post what he said makes a lot of sense and I think that is the system that should be applied.
