In America, if you go to a "Japanese Steakhouse", they cook the food on some kind of flat grill right in front of you. Im not sure if anyone in Japan actually does this when cooking, but its sweet as hell :D :D :D

they do some pretty sweet stuff, if youve ever been to one im sure you know what i am talking about.... can someone confirm if these places actually exist in japan?

Yeah, it's pretty cool, even if the food served at those kinds of places suck ass, and is NOT real Japanese food.

The closest thing to this would be something like bartending tricks. Both are extremely cool. Major difference is that the Japanese steakhouse guys don't speak good English. :lol: :blaugh:

I went to a place where the food seemed somewhat accurate, at least in what it was made of...

The food is not very traditional.
But it is awsom to watch :metal:

idk the guy at my place was actually from Japan, and i asked if it was close to actual Japanese food, and he said it was pretty similar...... do they have them in Japan though, where they do all the cool stuff?

never heard of a japanese steakhouse, but does benihana count? they do tricks and cook in front of you there.

and you could get a maid in a meido cafe in japan to do tricks for you, or draw stuff on your food with condiments, but can't get to cook in front of you though...don't know if they have steakhouses there though.

the food at benihana isn't that great, it's mainly for the show.

teppanyaki is amazing. It's fast, not for show, and takes awesome. And it's usually very very cheap.

I haven't been to that steakhouse but I've been to Mongolian Grill where they grill the food in front of you. I deliberately put a lot of spice in my bowl so the smoke that rises up from the grill makes the workers cough.

You do that just to make the workers cough? (15% innate evilness - enough to show it in minor bursts of mischief)

OH right..this is about food manipulation..er. I like how they set ice cream on fire sometimes... >.> <.<

I went to some places like that, I think it was called Bennihanas or however you say it or spell it and i also went to yamato or something like that.
They cook on some grill called tempaii or something.
I dont think there food is bad but then i am Korean.

yeah its similar but they obviously done with food.
