No, not at all...very firm...but loose enough for anyone to take it out (with some force needed rofl)

can't you just push on the cap itself to press on the eraser part to get some lead out?

I'm concerned about lead breaking and what I just wrote above.

Otherwise, stop posting "stupid pen mod" as name of your thread, just write the name of the mod and that's it. Make it clear. (edited for you already)

Lead may break if fall on tiles like in classroom.

A few things

I am pretty sure zombo is takling about what I am thinking about too. Not how the lead would break neccesarily, but how it would break whi;le writing.

If you look at any mechanical pencil, youwould see that there is a minature plastic or metal (does not matter, as long as it is sturdy) piece of object, that may be a small tip, or a thin needle like tip. It retracts in some pencils.

Point of that little part of the pencil is to make sure the lead does not break while writing. It is usually really small, and contoure fits the lead as well as leaves enough room to write flexibley.

Your pencil however, does not have this importent part of the pencil, and the lead would be very easy to break if someone were to press to hard, or wrote on a heavy angle.

Also, the distance between the cap and the thickess of the barrel seems substantial. Wont that affect some trick execution??

Lastly, what do you mean by firm? You replied to nexus saying that the cap was sturdy.

EDIT- cop=ugly :D

because you can't use that kind of mechanism on a mechanical pencil. on a pen you push the cap and it locks. push it again and it unlocks.
on a pencil you need to be able to continuously push the cap.

Awesome pen, only both of the ends look fragile.

Good job on making a pencil, though.
