Title: Specific Question Thread

firebird - February 23, 2007 03:55 AM (GMT)
This thread is for anyone having specific questions who wants to find an answer and Google/Wikipedia wasn't helpful or would not furnish an answer considering the question. :)

Questions can literally be about anything, from homework problems to the length of Zombo's socks, etc. However, the questions should be answered truthfully and somewhat seriously, unless the question was goofy to begin with. This is not condoning inane questions, but try to keep enough of them serious, ok? :) A serious personal question can be denied by the respondent if he/she would rather not answer it. Please pose questions in bold/italic/coloured font to make them more visible.

Cheers.

How often do y'all change bath towels? Are you the type to change them after you use them, or use the same one for one week and then wash it?

Mats - February 23, 2007 06:42 AM (GMT)
I change after 1 or 2 uses.

rorixbladewing5 - February 23, 2007 07:01 AM (GMT)
What is a grade (school)? e.g. grade 8, grade 7 etc. In NZ we use years instead so I've never bothered checking out what a grade was.

MuChO_LoCo - February 23, 2007 07:12 AM (GMT)
i keep like 3 hung up and rotate for like 2 weeks then throw em all in the wash

a grade is pretty much the same thing as how old you are, but is kind of more on knowledge because you can skip grades or be held back usually 1st grade is ages 6-7 2nd is 7-8 etc.

so.... zombo how long r ur socks? this questions gona b asked eventually ^^

faulk - February 23, 2007 07:53 AM (GMT)

I mean to change it weekly but always forget, so it varies from one week to 1.5 months

..,right. So does that mean you dry yourself with your clothes?? :hah:

Here's my question:
Please tell me about Emma Watson's school and social life. Well basically anything personal you know about her.

Zombo - February 23, 2007 02:05 PM (GMT)
She is single, I believe that's all you want to know.

kensai - February 23, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
Well I already know that...I just...hunger...for more information.

sicxer_ - February 23, 2007 03:57 PM (GMT)
What song is this song based on? This is the techno remix, but what was the original song title and artist? And its not like I can type the chorus into google and find it...

I switch towels every few weeks or so.

Eso - February 23, 2007 06:36 PM (GMT)
Do you use cups for rinsing your mouth when you brush your teeth? Or do you just scoop water from the faucet and rinse your mouth like that?

Cups ftw. It's just something I grew up with and cannot imagine myself without a cup while brushing my teeth. You get more water in your mouth for rinsing and you don't waste water trying to scoop some into your hand, only to get maybe to rinse it halfway.

I only have 2 bath towels, one thick and one thin. I use the thick one most of the time and I wash it once a week. It starts to smell like mildew or something towards the end of the week and was looking for alternative methods of maintaining bath towels. I have heard of Americans that throw the bath towel to be washed after 1 use. So they have a cabinet full of bath towels. Sounds kinda wasteful to me. It's like, when you're getting ready to use the washer, one whole load consists of just bath towels. What is this, a hotel?!

firebird - February 23, 2007 08:48 PM (GMT)
I scoop the water. It's just something I've become accustomed to doing. Using a different towel daily is ridiculous. When you go to wash them all, like you said, you're wasting power unnecessarily.

Do you buy popcorn or a drink when going to the movie theatre? Also, do you make an attempt to see matinee movies or on a Tuesday for reduced ticket prices?

Eso - February 23, 2007 09:32 PM (GMT)
I hardly go out to watch movies but when I do, I don't make an effort to see matinee or discounted movies, mostly because of schedule constraints. I also don't buy anything from concessions because they charge an arm and a leg. It's almost as bad as Disney World.

MikeN - February 23, 2007 09:36 PM (GMT)
About the movies, I sometimes get an ICEE or some other small drink...
But normally i just smuggle chips or a can of soda in

Toast - February 24, 2007 03:09 AM (GMT)
when you are sleeping, do you find youself sleeping facing the right, left, facing the ceiling, or lying on your stomach?

btw

Scoop with water ftw and...

1 towel for everything =\ and washed like once every 5 months...

after all, i dry after i cleaned myself..so..

Sathon - February 24, 2007 03:15 AM (GMT)
Answered in toast's order
ceiling means roof right? Then I lie up face the ceiling. Hmm...this week I slept with a hat over my head lol like cowboy. It's not very comfortable.

I scoop with my hands because they are god hand.

I wash my towels like once every week or if I'm lazy once every 2 weeks...

...

firebird - February 24, 2007 03:44 AM (GMT)
I sleep in a prone position.

Ah, you should be the best spinner in the world then.

Zombo - February 24, 2007 03:47 AM (GMT)
I really like sleeping with my face on the wall. I have two pillows: one in normal position, another one orthogonal to the other pillow which borders the side of my bed which is not close to the wall.

I frequently switch side in my bed to face on the wall or face on the side pillow.

kensai - February 24, 2007 07:46 AM (GMT)
(Damn, no one answered my Emma Watson question :pullhair:)

I lie either facing up or the side.

How many times a day do you jerk off?

For me, 1-2. Mostly 2 though.

Nighteye90 - February 24, 2007 08:51 AM (GMT)
wow, answered your own question.

I use 1 towel per week, its a hassle to get another one.

I scoop the water. I only use cups when I'm in the dentist.

I rarely buy popcorn or drinks at movies. I get my fill before or after one. I also have a habit of going through popcorn and drinks like hot cakes during a movie. Within 30 mins, including previews, I probably already ate everything.

The way I sleep is kinda like Zombo's (copycat! jk), the thing is, I don't have a barrier pillow.

How does this comic make you feel?

ShoeMan - February 24, 2007 10:43 AM (GMT)
I;m trying to learn to play the piano/organ whatever as some of you might know..

I'm a total beginner and here is my question..

I know that when I play a certain chord I'm basically suppose to use my left pinky, middle finger and thumb.
Does it apply to the B chord as well? Because it REALLY uncomfortable..

my jerking off habits change through different times.. it could be once a day and it could be once a week..

The Saint - February 24, 2007 10:54 AM (GMT)
ShoeMan, I think you should use the fingers you feel comfortable with. I learned to play the piano and its all about training. If it makes sense to press the chord with other fingers, then do it and you'll have fun... ;)
and yeah, the B chord feels bad using my pinky, middle and thumb. maybe try to experiment with your index... :dunno:

Would it be a good idea not to play StepMania for a while if my left eye starts to hurt a bit and I have to blink all the time?

It's a bit better now, but a week ago... Ouch. >_<

B, D#, F#; I think I play this chord with pinky, middle and index. There's nothing wrong with changing the fingering.

I was wondering..
Is firebird black?

HuroniX - February 24, 2007 07:35 PM (GMT)

quebes - February 24, 2007 08:05 PM (GMT)
my back is kinda messed up when i sit for over 30 minutes i need to crack my spine and then it feels normal again. is this a bad thing and if it is what can i do?

Eso - February 25, 2007 04:18 PM (GMT)
-I sleep on my side, usually on the left.
-firebird is mixed of all kinds of things, I believe that's what he said before. But mostly Sri Lankan IIRC.
-The sky is blue because sunlight hits the particles in the air at a certain angle, which refracts the light so that blue light is reflected. Something like that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffuse_sky_radiation
-quebes, you might want to start sitting up straight. It also might be because of the way you sleep? Please refer to Zombo's sleeping positions.

No, but great blue herons might.

QUOTE (http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/accounts/information/Ardea_herodias.html)
Great blue herons can be found in the Nearctic and Neotropical regions. During the spring and summer, they breed throughout North and Central America, the Caribbean, much of Canada and the Galapogos. Some populations migrate to Central and South America during the winter months, but do not breed there.

Great blue herons always live near sources of water, including rivers, lake edges, marshes, saltwater seacoasts, and swamps. They usually nest in trees or bushes that stand near water, breeding at elevations of up to 1,500 m. They tend to avoid marine habitats along the east coast and instead live inland.

California borders the Pacific Ocean, so there you go.
