Condensed guide
Managers coordinate their team. Spinners are the actual players. Follow the section that's appropriate for you.
For managers:
Before entering the tournament:
-Form your team by selecting the appropriate number of spinners. If reserve are allowed, get an extra back-up spinner.
During a battle:
-In period 1, select what cards you want. Take as many cards as specified. Select your captain and assistant.
-In period 2, select how you're going to assign your team into the matches. Apply any freeze card you have on any match if you want. Remember that even-numbered matches are worth 3 points, odd-numbered are worth 2.
-In period 3, use your freeze and swap cards (if you have any) to modify your lineup if needed.
-In period 4, you can use any swap card remaining to make final changes.
-If necessary and possible, use your reserve to substitute any spinner. You must privately notify the organizing committee of the substitution at least 1 week prior to the deadline. Any substitutions will be publicly revealed after the reserve period ends.
-Be aware of the penalties incurred by substitution. For this battle, the match which the reserve takes part in will only net 2 points for a win, but 3 points for a loss. The substituted player cannot take part in any further battles for the remaining of the tournament as well. You will have to play without a reserve for the end of the tournament.
-Your team will be assigned a random number. Make sure all videos filmed have this number written on a piece of paper, clearly visible during the whole combo.
-Make sure you've joined doubles videos together. It's only one video for the whole pair that you must submit.
-Make sure you're the one submitting the official copy of the videos to the judges.
-Make sure your videos are submitted in time.
-In case of draw, your captain will battle the opposing captain in a 1vs1. Make sure you picked your captain wisely at the beginning of the battle. You won't be able to change your decision.
For spinners:
Before entering the tournament:
-Know your role. If the manager expects you to be the reserve, don't whine that you don't get to play. Accept your role or don't join the team.
During a battle:
-You basically do nothing during the lineup periods. You may want to give feedback to your manager on the current state of the lineup and how to improve it.
-Know exactly doubles match and singles match are. Know the specific details you have to fulfill (time limit, etc...)
-Make sure you write a piece of a paper with your assigned number and put it in the backgperiod, clearly visible.
-If your match is doubles, communicate with your partner to devise an useful transition.
-Submit your video to your manager, not the judges.
-If you are captain, you must display leadership and also participate in the tiebreaker, if any.
