Wear gloves while down there if you are going to film, take them off only when filming.
Taking MDMA will probably keep your temperature nice and warm too.
quebes - March 2, 2007 06:07 AM (GMT)
srry what is mdma ive tried golves but they get cold like 5 seconds after i take the gloves off

Buy a labtop. drink hot cocoa/ whiskey.
UnEmploymentDude - March 2, 2007 08:54 AM (GMT)
Nah dont drink whiskey, it doesnt really warm you up, it just rushes the blood to the back of your throat.
Just rub your hands together, then put them under your armpits... try it
firebird - March 2, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
methylene dioxymethamphetamine
You may have trouble getting your hands on some.
Maybe you can look for a portable mini-heater. They suck up a lot of power but they work fairly well.
Simån - March 2, 2007 03:57 PM (GMT)
warm your hands with a cup of hot water... Just like Ronnie O'sullivan...
But dont drink coffee before you start spinning... It will make your hands shake, and difficult to control...
lefty101 - March 2, 2007 04:56 PM (GMT)
They sell hand wrmers at sporting good stores
use those.
ShoeMan - March 2, 2007 05:51 PM (GMT)
rub them against each other
RippDrive - March 2, 2007 06:47 PM (GMT)
Wait until summer. You will be a better spinner by then anyways =P
But seriously. Talk to your parents about moving the computer or getting heat down there. Feel em some line of BS like that it's bad for a computer to run if it's too cold.
RandomNewb - March 2, 2007 07:31 PM (GMT)
Hey, I have this exact same problem. It reduces my accuracy rate so damn much and practicing and mastering tricks is a bitch.
If you do happen to get 'the hands' for a good combo, it will be very temporary that's for sure.
The only thing I've managed to do with it is take a nice warm shower and then start penspinning right away or else... I breakdance. I get adrenaline into my body any way I can and then go to work. It lasts a good 5-10 minutes only though.
The only way you're going to be able to solve your problem is move to a better or warmer area.
I'm hoping to get a laptop so I can use it in my room. Kudos. Try your hand at it.
zepiroth76 - March 2, 2007 08:30 PM (GMT)
Get a bucket and fill it with hot water from the sink or tub, and I mean full hot.
Bring it downstairs and soak your hands in them for about a minute or two.
That should keep your hands in good condition for spinning for at least 10 minutes in a COLD environment, such as outside in 30 degree weather.
MikeN - March 2, 2007 09:21 PM (GMT)
I don't know about right away, but in the long term if you want your hands warm, make sure you have lots of B vitamins. They're in lots of cereal and wheaty stuff.
NF Alex - March 2, 2007 09:52 PM (GMT)
Hair dryers work pretty well.
Cybrax2 - March 2, 2007 11:04 PM (GMT)
Put it in you're Pants.
Touch yourself.
You have a warm hand.
blackhero - March 2, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
make a fist and blow hot air through it with your mouth
or just get a heater!!! lol

Not to mention sticky, smelly and extremely unpleasant.
But to each his own.
I was about to try the bucket of hot water thing but then I noticed how desperate I'd look. That's why I got off my ass and went upstairs to practice tricks. =] Much less desperate.
Oh and I'm lazy.
zepiroth76 - March 3, 2007 04:54 AM (GMT)
That doesn't solve the problem of recording it though, unless you use a camera or something.
Sathon - March 3, 2007 05:05 AM (GMT)
I have those mini heaters thing...Maybe it's just me but when I use it my fingers went tired fast...
So I just put my hands in my jacket pocket (The pocket you put your hands in) and it could warm my hands a bit. Rub my hands with each other and stuff works.
night_3 - March 3, 2007 05:36 AM (GMT)
hair dryer may be useful
but why not move your comp into your room?
Cybrax2 - March 3, 2007 06:00 AM (GMT)
Go to 7eleven
BuY those heat packs where you shake them
Shake it real good.
Touch it
Be warm
Crzyazn - March 3, 2007 06:06 AM (GMT)
meh...use hot tap water to soak your hand
Eso - March 3, 2007 06:41 AM (GMT)
Sitting on your hands usually helps. Or try putting them under your arm pits.

Exactly... Hatin' on the rest of us who don't jizz every second of the day so we wouldn't know. <_<
I went to my girlfriend's house and she had like half an inch thick clear plastic plate type things on her windows and it seemed to help 'cause she has the uber old heating way of basements. I might try it. See if my parents will get some of that stuff.
Or else, I'll just penspin upstairs if it comes to it or work on combos for now and film later.
zepiroth76 - March 4, 2007 03:16 AM (GMT)
When I read the "When I went to my girlfriend's house" I immediately thought of bad thoughts because of you quoting the...bad things.
RippDrive - March 4, 2007 06:12 AM (GMT)
another thing you 'can' do is cling wrap over the windows and then shrink it with a blow dryer. But the problem is if it's a basement the cold is coming from the walls and floor, not the ceiling. I'm going to talk a wild guess and say concrete floors and walls?
quebes - March 4, 2007 06:27 AM (GMT)
ive got a really old house i believe it is now like 100 something years old and the floor is carpet but there is cement underneath. btw people i dont have problems just warming them up im a hardcore well actually used to be a hardcore backpacker and kno all the keeping warm tricks and stuff but just keeping them warm isnt quite enough. right now i just have some carbs have some hot water and wear a touque gives me roung 10- 15 minute tim span

oh yeah, whiskey does help... trust me on this one.
just eat a couple of pretzels if you are driving afterward, it should help sober you up.

I think the best way are those packets that get heated. My sister went to an army base recently and they gave her some army supplies. One of the supplies was that packet. I'm pretty sure they sell those in the sports stores. Anyways when it is really cold I usually put my hands under armpit/kneepit. It gets warmed up so quickly.
