What tricks can help strengthen my ring finger?

best and easiest way is to just keep spinning. When your fingers get swore stop for a 30 seconds and keep up again.

Just use a finger weight.

Strength plays a pretty small part in spinning. It's all about the dexterity.

Dexterity is fine, but I don't have the strength in it to pull of a middlearound.

What kind of pen are you using? The reason I had the most trouble while learning MA was that I couldn't flick my ring finger fast enough to give it the required momentum.

It's a double capped Roseart Gel Pen with grips on each end.
The momentum and weight seem to be fine for everything else.

use a thinner pen
it is easier to work your fingers through with a thinner pen or pencil. (but charge is a bitharder)

Wouldn't you have to be able to Charge 34 first.
I'm gonna work on that next.

EDIT: woops yeah, you need to know how to do a charge 34. since it is Charge 34 -> pass

definitely charges and sonics, in the 34 position.
