Title: Pen Illusions!
Description: Help!!

Joshua - March 26, 2007 07:26 PM (GMT)
I was trying to figure out how Bonkura (and other spinners who have done the same) do that trick, often linked after infinities, where you hide the pen completely with you palm facing the camera.

Can anyone help me? Even create a video that just shows the opposite side of the hand during the trick. I want this trick revealed!

Please!!

It's I-Sonic for invisible sonic. I think Le0n made a vid about it.

it depends on what kind your talking about....

Ill make a vid and upload it in a second.

Edit: i lied... camera's dead... ill just explain it...

There are 3 types (that I've seen):

The iSonic: You can read the thread about it if you want.... you basically just hold a sonic halfway through, so that you cant see it for a second.

The type where the camera is above the hand:: Basically you start an iSonic, then do this (watch vid), and spread your fingers.... sorry for the crappy video lol...

The kind where the camera is below the hand: Bonkura usually does this... you cant really tell untill he does it though... You are palm down at this point, you start an iSonic, then balance the pen on the back of your hand, then spread your fingers (makes it look uber cool)

hope that made any sense lol....

the magician hobbyist in me knows 2 good methods to be able to be able to do an isonic and then spread your fingers but what fun is it when someone tells you the trick ;)

I know what an iSonic is. :banghead:

I should have specified --> I have seen the finger-spread iSonic done before without a change in camera angle. Bonkura doesn't put his camera on the ground and film PD, either. He would have to rearrange his funature to the point where its on the walls..

Thanks for trying to help out, though.

um i think bonkura pins the pen to his hand or something. I no the one time he pinned the pen to the eraser in his tribute vid and some other vids.

that one he does on the table from above...

bonkura (or the ones he does in his tribute video anyway) is filming from directly below his hand. he just balances the pen on the back of his hand. The background is the ceiling.

Don't you guys know that popular phrase? A magician never reveals his secrets. If everybody knows how these i-sonics are done, it takes away the amazement factor you feel when watching the video.

I agree, but i still find them amazing since it is extremely hard to do the trick anyways.

QFT, but i suppose where there are people wondering there are others to tell them how its done. It's why all the truly brilliant magic tricks are going more and more underground
