Those of you in the US should recognize the acronym above. It usually stands for "Pre Student Aptitude Test" and is take prior to the SAT test. However, in this case it stands for "Pen Spinning Aptitude Test"

I created this test mainly for fun, but also so people could guage their progress in the PS world. Please do not cheat on it or look up anwsers, as that isn't very fair. Once I have enough submitted I'll begin to return them with your score, out of 100% as well as your percentile relative to other UCPSB spinners. This will be based on a bell curve. Also not thatthis is geared to be somewhat doable even to newer spinners so veterans may find it rather easy. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few 100%s.

Simple download the files below and fill out the anwser sheet (the test and sheet are seperate files). Return that to me savd as [youname] PSAT 07 Anwser Sheet. You can PM, email or give it to me by MSN. Check my profile for that info.

Oh yeah, and just to warn you guys, you need to make some videos for it. (would be hard to judge your spinning without them :P) Six to be exact... and their all relatively short.

I said fuck it with those videos. Don't wanna waste my time learning Basketball spin. I'm sure a lot of the veterans and pros don't know how to either.

yeah, I don't care if all the videos are in one... also basketball spin was in there mainly to prevent people from getting 100%s :P

By the way, if you submit any part of the video you will get some partial credit... for example on the last combo if all you can do is one bakaround, film it and you'll get at least one point.

its not fail/pass you are given a grade, but since its based on a bell curve your score might not be as bad as you think... basically if you do about the same as everyone else you would show a fairly good percentile.

Aren't the M/C questions are a little too easy? And I can say the most widely excepted breakdown of Bak Fall is rev. Bak Rise because hey, nobody uses that breakdown!

yes the M/C questions are kinda easy... they were in a way designed to be so, giving newer spinners a fair chance, since I doubt they can do all those combos. Also I was kinda running out of them twords the end. If I make a second I'll have a few people help me make it. *Hint, hint* Also I think everyone knew what was implied by "breakdown" as in individual tricks...

Now when the test says Basketball Spin 12-12, does it spin on the index finger or the middle finger?

either variaion would be acceptable, since its not specified. You could also have it spin on both.

Oh yeah, I had another question: On the last combo, is the pass 12-23 fingerless?

Zombo, I was under the impression that basketball spin 12-12 meant it started and ended in the 12 slot. Did I notate that wrong?

The pass is implied to be fingerless. I just didn't write it that way since some people don't think that they are. Basically do it as if you were beginning a neobak fall.

I think question 20 (the one about the legendary four) is being thrown out unless someone can provide me a reliable source that says whom they are. Teach me to trust my memory... If so everyone will get a free point there.

I taught myself basketball spin in 10 minutes but i can't do ringaround so i'm not going to bother taking this :rolleyes:

haha i thought i was halfway competent in penspinning, atleast for the knowlege part. But after this test iunno.... i think i'm gonna need to study more. :unsure:
