Title: Betamoderator Evaluation For Toast #2
Description: Your chance to evaluate the staff!
Zombo - April 11, 2007 10:16 PM (GMT)
It's one month already since Toast has been last evaluated, so it is time for him to re-take the public evaluation.
Please no flaming, post comments / feedback if you wish so.
Remember that while the results of the poll are of great importance, the rest of the moderating staff have the final say on the decision.
Polling lasts one week.

Nope, not yet proven himself.

If you're definition of "proving yourself" is stickying 20 topics banning a bunch of people and handing out at least 50 warnings, then no, he hasn't "proven himself."
Otherwise, I see no reason not to grant full moderator status.

I think you screwed that up. Shouldn't it be, "I so no reason not to grant full moderator status?" Otherwise you're being contradictory.
Also, I don't see why you people don't want him to be a mod... hes not done anything wrong, and IMO hes done a very good job. Mind at least giving a reason or two?
kelvinchan - April 12, 2007 03:00 AM (GMT)
Whoa, it has already been a month? I already forgot that he was a mod...
Meaning:
Retain beta-moderator stage and re-evaluate later

My point exactly.
I didn't even feel his presence as a mod over the past month. You think that merits promotion? I'm talking about minimum effort, which is locking/moving/merging the occasional topic, handing out the occasional warning, leading by example, etc. Perhaps if he's been doing so, he can account for his actions over the past month.
The reason he'll probably be promoted regardless is because this is more of a popularity vote.
faulk - April 12, 2007 05:48 AM (GMT)
Yea.. I meant to have a "not" in there.
Edit: And please, point out all the threads that need to be moved/locked/whatever, 'cause there's just so many of them and this board has gone to HELL!

okay, before anymore people try to defend me, i have to apologize.
No matter how you look at it, it is a fact. I have not been as active this month as i usually am. This was a eventful month for me, and i could only log onto ucpsb once per day, and nprobably for only 20 minutes.
I would not like it if i was promoted with this type of performance, as this is not the way i intend to moderate.
Ok, i also have to admit i should have been more thoughtful, especially as this was still a evaluation month for me, but like many others have, the month flew right over my head. I had no idea it passed so quickly.
i dont know if i could request this, but if a promotion does occur, i woud like to be held back a month anyways, as i do not feel like i deserve it.

I didn't notice him really at all.
He never said anything to me about me flaming, which I happen to do a lot.
I don't try to, but he hasn't done anything about it.
He also didn't contact me when I rejoined the forums like one of the other moderators.
I mean it isn't that big of a deal, but I do not think he did that much aside from those things either.
I voted to strip beta moderator status, which won't happen I know, because as previously stated this is more of a popularity thing.
I voted to strip his moderator privledges because I think a second chance is enough to prove yourself, he failed once in his promotion, and in my eyes I think he has failed again seeing as how you couldn't even tell he was a mod.
Well for the time I was here I didn't even notice him at all.

well in his defense, there's no point in having all moderators warning you for the same offense.
We have a centralized system so we know who deals with what.
Joshua - April 13, 2007 01:01 AM (GMT)
Yeah. This past month I haven't seen as much negative things happening on the board. Is that because of Toast, the other mods? Who knows. I sure don't.
Point being - no one knows how our system of moderation works at UCPSB, but the mods. So this vote doesn't even really matter. I wish I could vote "Let the mods decide whats best", because thats what should happen.
This is not a decision for the members of UCPSB to be making, debating, or criticizing.
I just hope that whatever decision is made, that its the best one. :thumb:

That also depends on the sub-forum you commit the offense in.

Too many sympathy votes, it seems.
2nd option btw.

56% is a weak majority and by Toast's message, it's safe to say he will stay beta-moderator for one more month.

What happens if the result is still the same in one month's time?
Zombo - April 19, 2007 07:00 PM (GMT)
I will seriously re-consider Toast's position altogether
