Warning: Spoilers of videos (kinda). I'd watch them first.


Match 1: KTH

Ayatori-Spreads were amazing, but it wasn't very smooth... tempo and difficulty might make up for that a bit.

KTH-Smooth, fast, difficult... loved it. Not much else to say, very nice, and surprisingly fairly creative combo.


Match 2: Uriel

Uriel-Smooth, fast, cool, but nothing really stood out too much. Certainly a very good video though...

PS-728-Really liked the ending, but not much else... of course very good, but I've seen better from him...


Match 3: Eriror

Eriror-Wow, that was amazing, lots of new stuff. Filming wasn't perfect though, and the hand transfers could've been a bit smoother. Might lose points there, but damn will he make up for it in speed. I really liked the flow of this more than your usual combos though. Even though it was long, the hands made it interesting. I have to say the left hand was WAY less difficult though...

Bonkura-Again wow, the around sequences were pretty sweet, and it looked cool as usual. It lacked just the sheer WTFness of Eriror's though... Aerials were pretty good, could've been better. Smooth and decent tempo though. Also Four Fingers > Two fingers :P


Match 4: Banz??? (not sure)

Gollumsk8-Pretty cool, fast and smooth with pretty high difficulty, especially liked the ending, but his hand moved way too much...

Banz-I really didn't like this much... dunno why, but his spinning just looks so ugly to me... It was however, fast, smooth, and fairly difficult. Will be interesting to see who wins this, I suspect Banz.


Match 5: Fratleym

Fratleym-Pretty cool, lots of unusual tricks in there, and tempo was decent too. Couldv'e been smoother, but thats always something I saw in your combos, and you've improved a lot in that area. Nice vid.

Leo-The cont. tricks kinda lost the effect after last round, but the ending was still very sweet. It was ok temp and honestly wasn't very smooth, but difficult. Also that looked like one hell of a fat pen! Wonder if that effects his spinning....



Eriror is definately my pick for the tourney, I think he can win it... Good luck, and win it for UCPSB!

Yeah, I wasn't as impressed with Bonkura as I usually am, and I was very impressed with Eriror.

KTH vs Ayatori is gonna be close I think. KTH is extremely smooth but I felt like Ayatori's combo was more difficult (I do have an untrained eye however.)

Uriel vs ps-728 should be a close one aswell. I liked Uriel's vid personally. I wish ps-728's video wasn't so dark though.

I'd go with Gollumsk8 over Banz, but again I'm not a good judge lol.

Frat vs Leo - I've got no clue.

cool stuff eriror, not everything is new in that video becuase I've seen some of that stuff already in private.

I guess you only turn on th elights during the middle of the combo to switch the shadwo from the top to the bottom?

Anyway, good stuff, too long tho. Can cut through the fat in between the intreesting moments.

bonkura's video was... not what I expected :(

Eriror was amazing & I think he'll win due to difficulty & smoothness, but in a way i don't like that fact because i really think bonkura is the best spinner in the world, aesthetically.

Other than that just sweet videos, i think leo will lose due to nearly dropping thumbarounds... too bad, the rest of the combo was very good

I'm still stunned at Eriror's video.

Everything about it was so cool. Even just how he picked up the pen. It was stylish from beginning to end.

The hand passes were so unexpected for me. I think his spinning there was the best out of the round, by far. I hope he is saving the best for the last round :)

Anyways, Eriror: that was awesome.

Pretty good videos this round. I thought Erirors was good with alot of hard tricks, good job. Uriels combos always blow me away, i just love his spinning and his "wtf is he doing" type of combos. Ps-728s doesnt look any different than some of his other combos but it was good. Leos was very good with his cont. tricks, and his ending was cool. The other spinners i thought were good also so im not quite sure who will go through to the next round. :)

it was just regular boring (i hate to say it, but almost spammy) stuff, only with ALOT of unnecisary hand motion.....

Eriror and Fratleym's videos were the best in my opinion.

Eriror's hand transfers adds some nice spice to the combo, and I don't know about the whole film quality clearing up in the middle, but it was a very nice artistic effect :banana:

Fratleym's vid creamed leo. the spinning isn't boring at all, with some nice tempo changes (slow midbaks at start and the fake reverse), and lots of energy >.<

I've never been a fan of ubergruppenfuhrer smooth spinning at the same speed (like leo's) because it makes hard tricks not have an impact when there isn't any energy going into the spinning. Like giving a speech, you can have a calm soothing speaking voice but it won't stand out if there's no emphasis or tempo change on key facts or important points. Same with too much intensity when you speak! The whole "rugged" energy is more appealing in Frat and eriror's vid.. and kinda why I like ayatori's over KTH. Ayatori had lots of power in his thumbarounds and whatnot, but KTH could have easily beat him if, for example, he did that aerial in the middle a bit more justice. I had to watch it twice to make sure it really was an aerial.

KTH won the first one, even though Ayatori had some awesome spreads--the combo was just too similar to the last one and that miss up.

But it seemed to me that Bonkura gave up. Its not what i expected from him. TO me it seemed like he gave up but still filmmed something.

Eriror long combo a little boring and quality wasnt as good as the previous ones

Banz's combo wasn't his best difficulty for sure but i loved his smoothness

Fratelym-loved his neobaks, smooth as always, only very minor delays
Leo- looks like nothing compared to his previous clip. so many major delays in this one (after TA and stuff)

Blargh, Eriror could crush me spinning with his bad hand versus me spinning with my good hand. Just when i thought i couldnt be more amazed you come up with a crazier combo, Eriror...well done :)

I thought bonkura would have produced a slightly longer combo but his aerials were amazingly smooth and combo'ed well.

Time to watch the other spinners :P...

Woah.. Never thought I'd have that many people behind me...

I turned on the lights in the middle of the combo. It gives for a different effect, and with the right light turned off, you can't see the shadow of the pen at the iSonic. I know the left hand's spinning was a bit too easy, but yeah... I have to say my combo is a bit too much spammish, though. I have to work on that in the finals.

I'm a bit disappointed about Bonkura, I knew he was gonna do a technical combo, but meh... It's smooth, and stylish, but it didn't make me go wow, to be honest.

I'll say something about the other vids later, but I do have something to say about Leo's combo. After second number 9, he reverses the combo.

PS, giggs reminded me how funny it is that more people are amazed by this combo, even though it only took me about 15 minutes to film, in opposite to my 6 hours for Round 3.

you can say you don't like my combo, or not like my style or whatever but just saying that with no args is a bit ..well..

Ayatori woaah, love this man and his style, he has understood everything about spinning.

I think he got WAY passed the time limit of 22 sec... that Could bring some points down but nevertheless it kept me intrested the whole thing and your spinning is the COOL.

Im discusted with this comment, You try and do that combo the way he did it then come back to me. That is a close battle as both of the combos have their strong points.

Bonkura is an exceptional spinner, and that was an amazing combo from his part especially as he didn't have much time to film in the past few weeks. Both combos have their strong points, so it could go either way. Anyway, thats for the judges to decide. Good luck to you both.

Fratleym did a great combo this round , I own .
Leo you have said you save a gorgeous and divine combo to final round ,but I doubt whether the judges would enjoy your idea -mirror . I also doubt if we have chance to see your final combo in PSWT.

KTH's aerials were nice, smoothness and difficulty was great.

Uriel's spinning was nice, ps-728's didn't look very much different than some other his combos.

Eriror was amazing although the vid could have been shorter.

IMO fratleym's was much better than Leo's. It would have been even if Leo's combo would have been pauseless.

btw it really encourages to train more when seeing so AWESOME spinning.

No, I'm just saying to keep it simple, something like ps-728's or Banz's video. Their videos have no corny hand pose, no tribute, no loud Avril Lavigne music, and a clean & non-distracting background. I can understand using some of these things for a collaboration vid, but this is a World Pen Spinning Tournament.

I agree that Eriror won this round, if that holds true and bonkura is out then Eriror won the whole tournament for sure(which does kinda suck cuz i was hoping that would be the final round)
